3 /5 Christy Barrett: The place itself was nice enough. However, I wouldn’t recommend Melinda. She disagreed with the services I wanted and tried, more than once, to push me into a service I didn’t want. Oddly, what I wanted was more expensive…so she was pushing a down-sell. I should have realized that meant she wanted to go home. She proceeded to rush my service resulting in nails of varying lengths and many different shapes - although I asked for almond (a $5 up charge BTW). The shapes were all tilted so they look crooked on my hands; I tried to fix it myself & did the best I could. The paint job was also rushed & appears sloppy to me. I surface is not even, you can see ridges/dips in many of the nails. All over a bad experience but I attribute that to the technician (Melinda) not the place itself. Definitely not worth the money. The more I’m typing the more frustrated I get. It’s hard to tell from pictures but these are poorly done.

3 /5 Barbara McKenzie: My longtime nail salon closed so I went to Hillcrest Nails because it is near my house. On the positive side, the place is large and clean, they offer free water/sodas and getting a walk-in service is easy. On the negative side, I tried three different techs for a manicure and one for a pedicure. The first manicurist cut my skin so that it bled each time I went to her! Finally, after three times, I asked for another person and she was fine, but her English was so limited that she didnt understand when I tried to talk to her about my nails continually breaking - after a lifetime of strong nails. I tried a third tech and he spoke better English, but my Dazzle polish never lasted more than a few days and my nails continued to break. The pedicure I had left me with an ingrown toenail that got infected. So, Ive given up and changed to another salon where one of the techs from my old salon now works. She gave me a great manicure with regular polish that has already lasted longer than the Dazzle and is half the price of HNS.

Never in my experience of getting a pedicure have I been told about price throughout the entire service so I paid before it was done so that they knew I was not running out the door with it and that I could afford it. Even left a $20 tip to the person who did my daughter’s princess pedicure (Katy). I also wanted a facial wax and was interrupted in my pedicure to do my facial wax in the midst of a relaxing pedicure. LIKE REALLY! How am I able to enjoy what I’m paying for if wax strips are being pulled off my face and there is no privacy!! First and last! Massage chairs are awesome.

2 /5 GC Smith: Have had 2 very underwhelming experiences here. I get Dazzle Dry manicures which can last up to 10 days. The first one, the nail tech got polish all over my fingers and cuticles- I had to ask her to clean up afterwards and she still left polish. The second time, every single one of my nails fell completely off within three days. Not even chipped, just the whole polish fell off. 3 of them happened the day after, so I went in to get those fixed and the tech was so rude and annoyed. The next day the rest of them fell off, but wasn’t worth going back for a third trip to have them redo because the experience I had the previous day. The pedicures are fine, but won’t be returning.
