Getzendaner Park - Waxahachie (TX)

5 /5 Jasmin Hamilton: A beautiful gem. Well kept and plenty of space for recreation, rest, and relaxation. Green spaces are essential for our physical, and mental health. Waxahachie can be proud of their work to provide such a park for their community. The trees in this park are big and ancient, telling a story about the area that buildings cannot. Thank you for seeing their worth and taking care of them.

4 /5 Paul: This park is very clean and well maintained. Huge pecan trees everywhere. 3.75 mile paved Hiking and biking trail head is located here.

4 /5 Santos Delgado: Great park to start a run/jog/walk. They often have events for running, classic truck/car shows, tulips etc, but they still let you use the trails. Have seen a few snakes but a lot less common than other trails I’ve been on and have not seen any poisonous ones yet while I’ve seen copperheads and coral snakes at others. The trail does get kinda nasty after a rain that might affect your run so check the weather. Additionally, watch out for hanging branches on the trail as some of the trees do not get cleaned out regularly enough and you could have a falling branch or larger limb fall on you.

5 /5 Rebecca Powell: We love going to this park, it has 4 different little park places (one specifically for small children) within it. Plus it has a hiking trail, bike trail, and walking trail that is 7 and a half miles long. Its a beautiful trail and very peaceful, I walk it all the time.
