1 /5 Carol Allegretto: My 78 year old mother was having chest pain and thought she might be having a heart attack, they checked her blood pressure and told her she was fine. My mother still didn’t feel well and asked to be taken to the ER. They told her she didn’t need to go and told her to sign a refusal of service form so they could leave. My mother told them she wasn’t refusing and wanted to be taken to ER. They bullied her into signing it. My brother had to drive 45 minutes to take her in. Tonight she called me (I’m in NC) with serious symptoms and in pain waiting on my brother to take her to ER (he lives 45 minutes away) I asked her to call 911 so they can send an ambulance but she has lost trust in them and believes they will provide transportation services to the ER. This is beyond sad. Shame on you!

1 /5 Contessa Mason: My husband was having a seizure and these “EMT’s” just stood there looking at him. When I asked if they could do something instead of stand around, this guy gave me such an attitude and said “no that’s not how this works” to which I replied “please inform me of how this works because you’re not doing anything” he then mimicked me to the other female EMT. There was absolutely no hospitality whatsoever and I cannot believe people like that are allowed to work in that position with those attitudes. DO BETTER!!

1 /5 Jason Farrar: I’m a very experienced healthcare provider and know what good care should be. My wife had cardiac arrest a few months ago. It took this joke of an EMS system over 10 minutes to arrive and the Paramedic showed absolutely zero urgency in anything that she did. After defibrillating my wife she gave no further care. She just acted as a taxi cab. Because she wouldn’t ventilate my wife after cardiac arrest it made things more difficult during her stay in the ICU. When I was sitting in the ER waiting room she came out and said “she has a massive brain bleed”. I thought that she was saying this based on facts, but it turned out that she made it up. Our tax dollars pay for an absolute joke of a system. Their leadership has no issue with allowing incompetent paramedics care for your family. When you (hopefully never) have to call 911 for your family member you should have no faith whatsoever that they will receive quality care.

1 /5 Amanda Ashcroft: Received a collections notice but NEVER received a bill from Galveston Area Ambulance Authority from services that occurred OVER A YEAR AGO. When I called to ask about the charges they said they sent a bill out and it was returned. They didnt even TRY to send it out again or attempt to get our new address (our mail was being forwarded regardless). Underhanded business practices and lazy employees.
