06-2025 Forever Painted Horse in Hight rate 19 location for tourist in Wichita Falls, TX, USAWee-Chi-Tah Statue - Wichita Falls Roberta Peek: Nice picturesque spot along the river. Good place to walk or ride your bike along the trails. Found out that Wee-Chi-Tah means waste deep in Comanche. Which is what the river was when they crossed it and where the city got its name thus the statue representing the event.
Lamar Park - Wichita Falls Natasha Wagner: Beautiful park. However, there are several spots of graffiti on the play structure. You can tell they have tried to clean the graffiti off in the past, but older kids/teens keep repeating it.
Fairly clean, though, aside from the writing on the play structure. The picnic pavillion is beautiful.
Hamilton Park - Wichita Falls Shyanne Mello: This park is absolutely beautiful, and we spend a lot of time here—especially during the summer thanks to the splash pad. It’s a fun, family-friendly space with plenty of seating, and the natural scenery with the trees and open grassy fields feels almost magical.
However, my only concern is the water at the splash pad. Recently, it’s had a very unpleasant odor, which makes me uneasy about letting the kids play in it. The smell is quite strong and honestly a bit concerning. I hope this issue can be looked into soon, as we truly love this park and want to continue enjoying it safely.
Lake Wichita Park - Wichita Falls Musicman Flores: Oooh was it cold! Felt like 24 degrees with the windchill but this was a nice trail to do. Was Able to do an intermittent walk 1mi/run 1mi with total of 10miles. Very nice color on the trees throughout the park. I Had a blast and have been coming to visit family for several years but never took the time to actually get out and take a nice run/walk at the parks available. Glad I did this time around.
Wichita Falls Railroad Museum - Wichita Falls Jason B: Really enjoyed visiting the trains. You are able to view and walk through one steam, and two diesel engines with multiple carts. Unique experience for those curious about what travel was like generations ago.
Would like to see further restoration done on these important pieces of history.
Blue Hole Park - Georgetown Malavika Kale: Fun park, especially after it’s rained a bit so there’s some water flowing down the little waterfalls. Parking is limited at the park entrance but there is plenty of street parking near by. Restrooms are available for public use.
This park has a great little trail, Pickett Trail - a fun hike with a few rocky steps to climb and descend. You can bring your dogs, please keep them on leash. Our senior pup loves the park and all the fun smells/sights.
Inner Space Cavern - Georgetown Rollyn Toliver: Its a nice Cavern to visit. Our tour guide Mateo is really nice and funny. He made our tour fun and interactive as he entertained a lot of questions. The Cavern tour we picked is the group tour, which covers a mile of the Cavern. I gave 4 stars because I believe they can do better when it comes to pricing. I think its a little much.
Berry Springs Park and Preserve - Georgetown christina carter: This place is gorgeous, smaller trails & longer to accommodate everyone. Mostly pavement but able to go off to the side for some gravel / rocky ones.
This is a LEASHED park & they have signs about reporting off leash dogs. So if you’re looking for an off leash hike, this isn’t the right park for you.
Obviously, there’s lots of tall grass. We saw a rattlesnake on the side of the trail, so just be aware of your surroundings during prime snake time.
