5 /5 Alyssa Dequeant: Beautiful little park near the historic McKinney Square. The city hosts events here throughout the year, including Dia de Los Muertos and Pride. The park has benches and a lovely little fountain. No bathrooms, though there are local businesses close by. Free street parking on the square. Nice place to sit in the shade and read a book.

The city prepare nice events in HDM, like October festival, Home for the Holidays, etc. and also decorate the park for special days like Memorial Day. The year 2022 was the first festival of "El Día de los Muertos" and it was a lot of fun! with music, food and people in costumes. Its also relaxing to sit and have a coffee on the benches around the fountain.

Serenity Park - McKinney

Ashley Haughton: This is a beautiful park! The grass is cut, the paths are clean, and there’s a pond you can walk around. The trails are a great length and very close to a neighborhood. My only complaint is the playground. It is so old and dirty that no one would let their kids play on it. They should replace the swings and playground but besides that is a very nice park! There’s a huge field as well since the park is very close to an elementary school.

Dr. Mack Hill Park - McKinney

Sendy Monarrez: Great park. It has separated playgrounds for toddlers and another one for bigger kids. The toddler playground is actually safe for my 2.8yo who is most of the times careful but she feels safe to play by herself here. Splash pad is great too. No restroom or changing area. But other than that, it’s great! It has shaded areas.

Valley Creek Park - McKinney

Helen Feistel: The small playground is definitely designed for older children, but of the 2 swings, 1 is an infant swing. The single swing seems a little out of place as the only thing available for young kids/toddlers

Kailee Browning: Pretty downtown with good eateries. We enjoyed the rooftop of urban pizza and matcha at fourteen eighteen. It doesn’t have as many shops as I would’ve liked though. All in all a cute spot to walk around.

Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve - Plano

Simran Mehta: This is easily one of the best trails in North Dallas. The unpaved trail is about 8 miles long, not too difficult, with gentle elevation changes to keep it interesting. There are plenty of different paths to take, including shortcuts and alternate routes, so you can adjust your hike based on how much time or energy you have. The trail does get narrow in places, and some of the greenery spills onto the path, so it’s a good idea to keep an eye on your dog to avoid any scratches. You’ll also run into plenty of birds and bugs, so come prepared. IMPORTANT: there’s quite a bit of poison ivy along some of the trail. Be cautious, especially if you have kids or pets with you. There are some nice spots to climb down to Rowlett Creek, and a few areas you could rope swing if you’re in the mood for it. The trail is rarely crowded and has a good amount of shade, which makes it great for hotter days. The paved side of the trail wraps around a beautiful lake that’s perfect for fishing. In some areas, you can also ride horses, which is a unique bonus for this part of town. Overall, it’s a peaceful, scenic spot that has a little something for everyone.

Bob Woodruff Park - Plano

Bishwas Sharma: This park is not too big. Has ample parking spaces, a fun playground for kids, covered area for doing events. The trail around the lake is not too long so good for a quick stroll. There are ducks and other birds around to watch. Also has drinking water fountain and restroom. Even though it was sunny and hot, cool breeze was pleasant!
