5 /5 Mr. Cook: This hospital and the staff are amazing. If you decide to come in during the afternoon or at night, do not blame them for having to wait a long time. They are busy because they are the best hospital within 4 hours (Cook is good too). They get busy because there are not many options around. The staff was super sweet to my little girl and nice to me. They took care of us, and we were in and out within 3.5 hours. Do things different from others and get different results. Thank you for this place. They finally figured out what was wrong with my daughter and the other 4 doctors she has seen, had no idea. They just threw stuff at the wall and hoped it would stick. I will come back if there is ever another emergency.

5 /5 Cyndi Pachura: My 16 year old son and I had to come here because he fell off of a ladder at school, and he was was scheduled for spine surgery for scoliosis! But his orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Kathryn Weisman was amazing. She took X-rays then told us that my son’s knee was far worse than we had been told at the emergency room we initially took him to. She kneaded had a three hour drive home, so she scheduled an MRI for him a 7 am the next morning. At 9:15, I got a call that we needed to get up to the hospital be he was scheduled for surgery at 11:15!! The doctor was able to get the MRI scheduled, get the disc, schedule all of the necessary staff for emergency surgery, secure the rooms, and everything. The staff that took care of us was all very kind and caring! The pre-op nurses found out that this was my son’s first surgery and that he was afraid of getting an IV, so they brought in a lady who showed him pictures of everything and explained it all. They talked to him about his interests and things that he was involed in at school. They used a vibrating bee and talked to him while the IV was being placed and while he was uncomfortable with it, he was fine when it was over. Then they walked him through the surgery, the anesthesiologists came and explained the medication to him the surgeons came and explained the type of break and all the things they were going to fix and before long, it was time to operate. I was shown a spacious waiting room where I sat and crocheted until Dr Weisman said it was finished and a success. She told me things I needed to know about his recovery and time out of school. The recovery nurse was very nice and gentle. She worked really hard to get him into a room on the pediatric side. We ended up getting the best and most requested room on the floor! It was a corner room with a great view of Dallas. But every nurse, especially Karli was so sweet and attentive. Then his physical therapist was really wonderful, encouraging him, showing him how to use his crutches properly with his immobilizer brace on. She helped him to figure out how to get up and down steps, and how to use the bathroom with his brace on at all times. We had a visit from s lady that brought him a Lego set to work on and she brought me a canvas and some paints! They didn’t want us to get bored! I sat in a recliner by my son’s bedside and at night I slept on a couch that had the fold out cushions on. I ordered meals on the phone for us, we were given the patient tray, but they gave me a guest tray also! They have a chef who plans and prepares the meals. Things like grilled chicken, chorizo and egg burritos, homestyle meatloaf, burgers, fruit, oh my too many to mention and everything we tried was delicious! Then we had a surprise visit from Callie. Callie is a yellow lab who was wearing a tutu and a thing on her head that said ‘Happy Birthday To Me’. It was her birthday, she came and let my son pet her, then she heard me talking and walked over in my direction quickly!! Once she got to me, it was amazing how it felt to pet this beautiful dog. I understand why she is a therapy dog! When it was time to go home, Karli helped him into the car and spent a lot of time rearranging pillows, trying to see how he could ride with the door closed, she was so great!! Four and a half hours later, we were home. He still has to have the back surgery in May, so we will definitely be back here and I believe we will be in the best place to get fixed.

1 /5 Jimmy Sanchez: They said I had to schedule an appointment before they would renew his prescription for seizure medication. I made the appointment and they did not renew the prescription. I had to call and waited on hold for 30 minutes before getting disconnected. I called again and reached someone. To be told that everything I was told by them yesterday was incorrect and I had scheduled the wrong type of appointment. I have no idea what type of appointment I scheduled. I scheduled the appointment they scheduled me for.My son hasn’t had his seizure medication for two days now.

1 /5 Edward Soltys: Took my daughter here for a knee injury that she has had for over a year. Multiple doctors at this hospital said it was not an injury, and its was a mental issue. They tried to get us to see a psychologist because the pain was being imagined. Knowing my child, I knew this was not true. The doctors made us feel like bad parents for not wanting to see a psychologist. I found another doctor who started from scratch. He ordered another MRI here for 4th MRI in two years. The doctor found a huge bone bruise on her knee. The doctor was shocked that no other doctor had seen this bruise before. Within two weeks, the new doctor scheduled a surgery and fixed her knee. I would highly recommend finding another doctor and a different hospital.

1 /5 Jonathan Davidson: If at all possible avoid Childrens Medical Center. They will refer you for "medical" services not covered by insurance then surprise bill you after they submit the claim that is denied, charging you whatever they feel like even though they never provided an estimate up front. Then when you call to ask questions you are sent to voicemail. Now having to dispute my bill with the state. Horrible customer service and horrible overall experience.
