4 /5 Sandeep Kumar KAMISHETTI: We visited this park on the 2023 Christmas evening following a Facebook post. Our intention is to see and enjoy the lighting in and around the park premises. But it was not that worth visiting the place only for seeing the lighting in the park. This is my personal feeling only. Also there are inscriptions on stone about the history of the city Irving, by which we can get to know things about the initial stages of the city.

5 /5 Kylle Basillo: You can spends day trekking the parkway system by trail and learning all about Irving!

2 /5 Michelle Johnson: It does have a lot of duck poop and debris, but it used to be a good trail to walk. Now it can’t be walked anymore to its design because they fenced and put a building up so people can’t cross and finish the trail. Once you reach so far, you have to turn back around. This is just stupid and an inconvenience to those who want to walk and ride bikes. I’ve tried finding an alternate route to walk in an uninterrupted circle, but there is not one. There no longer is a walkable trail without disruption.

4 /5 Jameika Cannon: This is a nice park very beautiful. The only thing is that there was a lot of trash in the water that took away from its cleanliness. Other than that, it would’ve been 5 stars for me.

5 /5 Margaret Rodriguez: I love this park so much. Ive lived in Irving most of my life and never regularly visited any of the parks, but Im over at this park all the time. Its so clean! The maintenance crew is very active and does a great job. Also theres a short loop or a longer path that goes who knows how far (Google Maps probably knows) so its nice to have options on your walk length. Also there are so many cool birds!

Spydaer Elizabeth: I walk fairly slow and it took me about an hour to go on this trail. Its very petty! I really enjoyed my time here. The tree coverage is great, you barely notice that youre in the middle of suburbia

Garland Gateway Towers - Garland

Willy Nillie: As far as the bridge goes, its big, its gaudy, and makes absolutely no sense . . However, I do like that it allows safe access to the other side of the road on foot and provides some shade (if the constant gun blasting doesnt bother you). It also provides a good spot to park and enter the back side of Rowlett Creek Preserve.

Garland Landmark Museum - Garland

Katrina Dawn Miller: Really neat museum to learn about the history of Garland, Texas. I enjoyed the second floor that has the history of the cotton, Kraft Foods building, and the old Garland newspapers. The museum is inside an old train station.

Windsurf Bay Park - Garland

Patay Cakes: Sometimes they cut access completely off,if they feel like we are litter bugs so pick your and everyone elses garbage up,so we can see those beautiful sunsets!

Spring Creek Forest Preserve - Garland

John Arntzen: Ive walked this nature trail for years and its lovely every time. Its very well-kept by the city: its clean, well-maintained, and beautiful. Public restrooms are available at the start of the trail as well. Just make sure you drive up to the entrance slowly, its very easy to miss!

Downtown Garland - Garland

Jeff G: Downtown Garland is a nice place with a relaxed atmosphere. There are a couple bars and restaurants. And its got a pretty nice park in the middle of the Town square. Theres a good barbecue and beer place and a good pizza spot.

Kathryn Jeurissen: Nice neighborhood park with a couple of play areas, small pond and walking trail. Good for families with kids of all ages.

John Paul Jones Park - Garland

K BP: Not a bad spot. I visited after a recent storm so there was so much debris and trash along the water. You get a great view of the water and PGBT. Not sure about fishing, as the day I went it wasnt looking like a great day for it. Plenty of picnic tables and small grills. There is also covered picnic areas.
