Nancy Warren Always come here during the Christmas holidays and/or New Years when we come to town. The food is always fabulous as is the atmosphere. We enjoyed Ahi Tuna, Mussels & Clam Chowder. The Oysters Rockefeller were amazing. The Mexican Martini and the Pear Tree Martini were perfect. Conner was an exceptional waiter with a great personality. We will keep coming back.

Donna Scholz A really great choice. We had been traveling all day and were famished. Great service and really good food. Great for couples and families. They have a tortillas machine that was fascinating to watch. It was running continuously the whole time we were there.

Jeanne Pinion I have been here at least three times and it never disappoints. This time I sat at the bar and enjoyed some flights of their house beers. I also tried the meatloaf, which was delicious. It was bacon wrapped and had a tomato sauce spiked with some of their house made red ale. Everyone working there was friendly and helpful. Got a hot pretzel to go for late night snackies and that hit the spot too.

Matthew Sinclair Wife and I celebrated our anniversary early since next week well be working during it. Made the reservation a month ago and the process was smooth. We checked in 15 minutes early (to be prompt and also we were hungry) and they were able to seat us. Megan was our server and was awesome, polite, attentive and friendly. Wife got the Filet and I got the Ribeye and we got the potatoes au gratin and roasted carrots. Everything from the food to the service and atmosphere were perfect and we were very happy to have the opportunity to eat here. We didnt get dessert as we were very full but will have to try another time!

Arianna Taggart Absolutely fantastic! Such a fun, cute atmosphere- you walk downstairs to the little bistro that has a very simple southern charm decoration to it. We were promptly seated and the service was attentive, timely, and friendly. I ordered the veggie omelette - it surpassed even my most positive of expectations. Very well cooked and loaded with fresh veggies. The mozzarella was delicious on top. The breakfast potatoes were perfectly cooked. And the biscuit was light a crumbly. Best omelette I may have ever had. The menu has a lot of great looking options as well. Everything was priced so well. You get a huge, delicious breakfast at a very reasonable price! I would definitely come again!

Rick Galbreath My wife is a vegetarian. We gravitate to pasta places because you can often get a good vegetarian meal there and there are lots of non-veg options for me. This place rocks (my photo does it no justice at all). The food was DELICIOUS!!! Service by Allen and Ashley (we went on two different evenings - it was that good) was stellar - professional and so, so pleasant, friendly. We found the seating comfortable and had no problems having conversations. We found the prices to be INEXPENSIVE. You expect to pay more in a tourist location. This must be where the locals eat. We arrived 4 minutes after they opened the first night and they had one table left. People come here for the food, service and ambiance. You must try this place!

Patrick Kennedy Amazing servers, amazing food, and great drinks. The menu is German inspired and the quality is astounding. They have a great selection of cocktails, wine, and imported German beer. The schnitzel was amazing both the pork and the duck, someone in our party also ordered the lamb chops which were also incredible. The appetizers also didn’t disappoint. I would highly recommend this experience.

Larry Ray Reed Flavor: A- Service: B Tea: B Solo dining: A When it’s on the main drag in F’burg, you never know if it’s legit or if they’re kept in business by drunken bachelorette parties ordering Cobb salads. I’m happy to report this place is legit. There are a few burger options on the menu but I will always choose the smash burger when one is offered. Theirs is two beef patties with American cheese, green leaf lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and house sauce on a potato bun. It all comes together very nicely, and while not a burger that blew my socks off, it was simple and really good. It’s flavorful and juicy but maybe just cooked a tad longer than I would like. If you believe life is about the sauce like I do, you’ll appreciate the extra condiments on the side to complement the house sauce. I’ll give it an A- for flavor though I wonder if on a different day they’d be an A. But The Burger Trail review only happens once so burger joints worldwide should always be on their A game. The house-made onion rings and ranch were a dynamite side and the live music on the patio made for an ideal evening. Cheers to Burger Burger for serving up a great smash burger to drunken bachelorettes and burger lovers alike! #theburgertrail #texasburgers

Cynthia Westbrook This is a laid back setting and is fun and relaxing atmosphere. The burgers are super, thick and juicy with just right seasoning. The fries and onion rings were crispy and fresh. The queso was tasty with just right pepper heat. We topped it off with a fabulous German chocolate cake. When we are in Fredericksburg, we make it a point to visit Alamo Springs for a burger. Its near Grapetown and just past Old Tunnel State Park. Well worth the drive.

Living_Life My husband and I took a quick weekend trip to Fredericksburg for our 36th anniversary and were lucky enough to snag outdoor seating at Cabernet Grill. We couldn’t get reservations because the trip was so spontaneous, but their outdoor option worked out perfectly. From the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful—my husband even got to meet the chef and owner, who couldn’t have been kinder. We’re already talking about staying on-site next time! Our server, Christopher, was fantastic and guided us through their Texas-only wine list. We weren’t familiar with many of the labels, but the full-bodied blend he recommended was spot-on. I’m glad we had a bottle! We are buying more for later consumption. We decided to sample several dishes, and I’m so glad we did. The Chicken Fried Deviled Eggs were a total treat—the hot honey gave the perfect punch. The Texas Twinkies were stuffed generously with delicious beer sausage, and the Bragging Rights Biscuits lived up to their name—so tender they practically melted in our mouths. They even brought out complimentary shots of the Roasted Carrot and Ancho Chile Soup, and WOW—absolutely incredible. The flavor and texture were so perfect that I would have taken some to go if our travel schedule allowed. I will return just for that soup. Next came the salads. The Steak Knife Wedge Salad was crisp, chilled, and huge—more than I could finish. My husband ordered the Wild Organic Arugula Salad, and I’m kicking myself for not trying it. He’s normally not an arugula or beet fan, yet he couldn’t stop raving about how good it was. He finished every bite. Our main reason for choosing Cabernet Grill was the Lobster-Topped Chicken Fried Ribeye, and it absolutely delivered. We shared it - photo is 1/3 of the portion! (our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs!) and every bite was incredible—tender lobster over a perfectly seasoned, crunchy, moist chicken fried steak. If you go, read the backstory on this dish—it makes the experience even better. And even though we were stuffed, I had to get dessert. The Gooey Chocolate Cherry “Spice” Cake came home with me, and I enjoyed it later at our Airbnb. Rich, gooey, a little spicy—it was perfect. 100/10—an absolute must-visit. Bring an appetite, because you’ll want to try everything. We can’t wait to go back!

Roland Sanchez Food was excellent and so was the service. Luca took great care of us and explained the menu wonderfully. He kept us informed about each next course and helped with drink pairings. The food was nicely prepared and looked amazing. It was very flavorful and seasoned to perfection. Also, the portions were pretty decent for a fine dining restaurant. The duck confit was cooked perfectly and the cookies tasted fresh and home made. The only possible negative I could say would be the atmosphere. The restaurant is gorgeous but with the lack of sound deadening it get pretty loud and you find yourself almost yelling at your date. It doesnt make for the most romantic experience but its still better than half the other restaurants in Fredericksburg in terms of food, ambiance, service and quality. Definitely give it a try. Be sure to make a reservation though. They get booked up.

Jeanne Pinion This restaurant has a little more of an old school, authentic German vibe. Ive eaten here a few times and it is always a big portion and delicious. This time I wanted something a little lighter and got the smaller portion of the Hungarian stew over herbed egg noodles. The food and service were speedy. The stew hit the spot and tasted like something perhaps your grandmother made.
