4 /5 Tricia Claiborne: We visited Union Bear for the very first time to celebrate my birthday in December and overall it was a really nice experience. The atmosphere and vibe are amazing warm, lively, and a great spot for a celebration or night out. The space itself is definitely a standout and sets the tone right away. The chips and queso were the highlight for me. The chips are really good fresh, crisp, and perfectly seasoned and the queso was easily my favorite thing we ordered. My entrée was okay, not horrible by any means, but not something I’d personally order again. That said, I noticed several other items on the menu that looked really good, so if I’m back in the area, I’d be open to trying something different next time. Overall, Union Bear in McKinney is worth checking out for the great atmosphere, fun vibe, and solid appetizers. While my meal wasn’t a home run, the experience itself was enjoyable, and I can see why this place is popular. Would recommend for the ambiance and starters, especially if you’re celebrating something special.

He was attentive without being intrusive, made sure our drinks were always full, and had great knowledge of the menu—his recommendations were spot on. He was friendly, professional, and made us feel very welcome throughout the meal. Service like this truly makes the dining experience so much better. We really appreciated his care and positive attitude!” Will come back for sure!

4 /5 Marcos Fuentes: The chicken was delicious, especially for a dry rub—cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Caesar salad was also great, and even though it was on the smaller side, it was plenty. I ordered the New York Strip medium rare, but it came out closer to well done. The steak itself wasn’t the best, and by the time I got to the fries, they were soggy, which was disappointing. On the positive side, the service was excellent—friendly and attentive. Be sure to call ahead or make a reservation, as the wait can be 30–35 minutes.

4 /5 Nancy Taylor: Our first visit to McKinney & wanted to check out Union Bear on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was a bit warmer, so all the windows were open, and a light breeze added to the ambiance. Food was extremely fresh & tasty, and the ales were fantastic. Service was top tier, and our only complaint were the flies. Sadly, it did take away from experience, hopeful they can find a timely resolution.

5 /5 Kate Blossom: First time here and well definitely be back, even though we live in Flower Mound. The atmosphere is so engaging with some large sharing tables besides individual tables, bar seating and outside seating. The pretzel bites were fantastic along with beer cheese and spicy mustard. The burger is juicy and flavorful and the corned beef was lean and super tasty with the kraut and some spicy mustard. The lemon blueberry cake (pictured below) was divine with just the right amount of sweet and lemon. Their fall drinks are new so consistency was a tad off, but Reid was proactive in getting the manager and Gabe fixed it. The Pear-ly Jam was terrific. Everyone is friendly and Kayla also stepped in to grab things since it was very busy. The staff couldnt have been more attentive including the lovely ladies seating people. A terrific experience and highly recommended!!!
