2 /5 Lindsay: I was really excited to try this place for a pub-style dinner, as I love traveling through the UK. We ordered three appetizers: the pretzel, bruschetta, and caprese salad. The pretzel was good. The bruschetta felt more like a deconstructed version, and the caprese salad seemed fine for those who ate it.
For my main course, I ordered the chicken sandwich. First, I was disappointed to see there were no fries on the menu—what pub that serves bangers and mash doesn’t also have fish and chips or at least chips (fries)? The food took a long time to come out, and when it finally did, the bun on my sandwich was cold. Our server rarely checked in on us, and since I was hungry, I ate some anyway. Unfortunately, the chicken tasted off, so I stopped eating it. A few hours later, I became very sick with food poisoning. I was the only one in my group who ordered chicken and also the only one who became ill.
The space itself could be great, but the acoustics made it extremely loud. The. concrete floors and walls just had people yelling over each other. The menu also needs serious improvement. Honestly, I’d recommend grabbing food somewhere else and only stopping here for a pint.
This place had potential, but between the poor menu curation, long wait times, inattentive service, and food safety concerns, I will not be returning.
