2 /5 Luis Luna: First, I want to say that our servers were very kind, attentive, and doing their best throughout the night. No complaints toward them at all. They were clearly working hard in a difficult situation.
Unfortunately, the New Year’s Eve prix fixe experience was extremely disappointing. It took over an hour for our table to receive the first course, and several menu items were modified or substituted without any communication. It was also obvious that food was running short, as our table was served noticeably smaller portions than tables around us.
We ended up leaving close to midnight, and given the long delays, it would have been appropriate to at least offer a cocktail or a glass of wine. We purchased a bottle of prosecco as soon as we sat down, and it was nearly empty by the time our first course finally arrived.
There’s a sign near the entrance defining “hangry,” and the irony couldn’t have been more fitting. By that point, our entire section was hungry and frustrated, and the sign unintentionally summed up the experience.
Based on the restaurant’s reputation, we expected a well-executed New Year’s Eve service. Instead, the lack of preparation and communication made this a poor experience overall.
