5 /5 JORGE A. FERRER: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4/5
Allow me to start by saying — this is exactly the kind of restaurant North Austin has been needing! The location is perfect, and from the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the hostess, who immediately accommodated our party of seven (four adults and three kids ages 10, 8, and 5).
Our server, Celine, welcomed us with a bright smile and made us feel right at home from the start. Her service throughout the evening was excellent — attentive, friendly, and professional.
We began with several appetizers (as seen in my photos) and ordered four mojitos. The presentation was beautiful, and everything tasted great. The only minor issue was that the tostones arrived a bit cold, but the rest of the appetizers were spot on.
For our main course, I was unfortunately disappointed to learn that the restaurant did not offer black beans (FRIJOLES NEGROS) — a key element in Cuban cuisine. A Cuban restaurant without black beans feels like a Mexican restaurant without tortillas. Because of that, I had to deduct one star from the food rating.
On a positive note, Celine recommended the lamb, which turned out to be excellent — tender, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. We ended the meal with a few desserts, all fresh and delicious, followed by a classic cafecito with an impressive presentation and spot-on flavor.
Overall, this was a wonderful dining experience with great service, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back and will gladly recommend this restaurant to my friends — just please fix the “no black beans” situation
