5 /5 Ralph Veloz: After a very long work week—I decided to treat myself to dinner at Liberty Tavern in Liberty Hill for the third time this month. Out of thousands of dining options in the Austin area, I keep coming back here for a reason.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with friendly service, a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and a menu that’s hard to resist. This time, I was thrilled to finally introduce my wife to the place. I ordered my usual — the Liberty Tavern Club Sandwich — and as always, it was absolutely delicious. Paired with their sweet potato waffle fries, it’s a meal straight from heaven! The club is huge, packed with flavor, and made with perfectly toasted sourdough bread. My wife said it was the best sandwich she’s ever had, and I have to agree — it’s that good.
The waitstaff, mostly local young Texans from nearby schools, are some of the friendliest and most polite you’ll find anywhere. On a previous visit, I was even approached by what I believe was the owner, a sweet and genuine lady who asked if everything was perfect (it was!). It’s clear she truly cares about her staff, her guests, and the overall dining experience.
Whoever is back in the kitchen deserves a round of applause — or maybe even a hug — because the food they turn out is consistently fantastic.
Liberty Tavern might seem a bit off the beaten path, but it’s actually quite convenient for anyone in Leander, Georgetown, or Cedar Park. Trust me — give it a try; you won’t regret it!
