Grain and Berry - Richmond - Richmond (TX)

2 /5 Yoli K: I recently visited Grain and Berry and ordered the Açaí Bowl with blueberries, strawberries, and banana. The ingredients were very fresh, but the bowl itself lacked flavor. The açaí base with banana had almost no taste, it was bland and disappointing. The fruit toppings were fresh: plump blueberries, firm ripe bananas, and fresh strawberries. But freshness alone couldnt make up for the flavorless base. It reminded me of the açaí bowls at Main Squeeze, which also have no flavor. It was actually so tasteless, after about halfway through, I decided to toss it. My husband managed to get through his, but he said it was right on par with Main Squeeze, which is not a compliment. For comparison, the best açaí bowl I’ve had is at Juice It Up in Pearland, they still set the standard, fresh ingredients, full of flavor and a great price. Grain and Berry seems ideal for people who prioritize freshness over flavor, but I prefer both. Also, at $13.50, you expect to be wowed, instead I felt suckered. The portion size was good but I get the same serving size at Juice it Up for $4 less. The service was also disappointing. When I arrived for pickup, the employee behind the counter was busy preparing several orders. Instead of greeting and asking if I was picking up or needing to place an order, she simply said, “I’ll be with you,” and kept working. I stood there for more than five minutes before another employee came in and grabbed my order from the fridge directly behind her, something that would have taken 15 seconds to do. No need to return.

All my questions were answered and I was given alternative options for my requirements of Gluten, daily, soy, and gum free! She even checked labels with enthusiasm and she was honored to help me! I will definitely be back!

3 /5 Patrice Reese: The only reason I am giving this an overall three star review is because of the misleading advertising versus online and what is in store or on the app. When I ordered the “Keto Bowl” (online) I was under the impression (first photo) I would get those items and fullness, however, in the second photo is what I received. Mind you I did not have the mozzarella, the balsamic glaze, or the basil. It was just the thin layer of avocado, hard boiled eggs, tomato, and everything season seasoning. I would have at least liked the fullness of the first photo just like any of their other bowls, which are good by the way. Paying $13 for not having a full bowl is disheartening but lesson learned. Order any other bowl just not the “Keto Bowl”. The service was good and accommodating to my concerns. I just don’t like to be misled by imagery that doesn’t meet a customer’s expectation and what is actually produced in the store.
