Fish Daddys Grill House - College Station (TX)

3 /5 Kristy P: Dined here while in town for work. Sold on the building, was less sold on the service. Food was just ok. I ordered Shrimp Creole and fried green tomatoes, to go. No real complaints on the food, just nothing to go over the top bragging on either. The Shrimp Creole was flavorful and much better than the hard green tomatoes. This is one of those places that I feel "almost" hits the mark. Improvements needed on staff. I respect that college kids in there are working and have jobs, BUT...training is KEY. I ordered to go and here were my observations: - took too long for one of the 3 people around the bar to come over and take my order; yes, I was patient, but after a while with me looking around someone should have come, esp since it wasnt busy - first words out of my mouth when someone finally came, "Im ordering to-go and Ill have a drink WHILE I WAIT on my order to be prepared." What did he do? He took my drink order and I was afraid my food would beat the drink out! Another girl finally brought it over. - Food comes out wrapped to go and the girl pops it on the counter and thanks me, but I almost had to crawl over the counter to reach the bags. Never had a to-go order NOT passed or at least pushed close enough for me to grab it and walk away. It was so odd, new one for me. - Got to my hotel and NO plasticware, no napkins. Mind you, I ordered two orders, ended up eating with fingers mostly b/c hotel kitchen was closed and who want to leave hotel to go buy plasticware. No quality check on the orders apparently. - For two orders, I got one little piece of garlic toast (the kind from the yellow Coles box), thats it. Best thing I had was my drink. Passion fruit topo Chico. It was GREAT. A pretty bldg, beautiful interior, fantastic location, college down, "mid" food and lower tier service, IMO. Not sure Id return with so much competition around the area. I went to a taco joint a couple miles away that was WAY better, 10/10 with kids working it and top tier service. Ive told everyone about it AND posted an equally long review for them asking them for a location closer to Houston. This place...wasnt BAD, it was "just ok". Glad my company paid and not me!

5 /5 Mr. O: Great time in a Monday evening. The food is great, the service very attentive and with great recommendations, the decor inviting, and the location ideal. Overall a great experience and will be back.

3 /5 Leslie Turner: Great location, nice and clean inside. Service was very good. We were seated immediately. Manager stopped by at one point to say hello. We were not ignored, and our wants/needs were met. The wait for our food and drinks to come out was not long. My only complaint is that I was not super impressed with the food. Shrimp was very overcooked and rubbery. We ordered scallops and as you can see in the picture, we only got 2. I was not okay with that but the one bite I got did taste good. The rest of the food was cooked correctly, served hot but the flavor was not really that great. My husband got fish with a crawfish sauce. It was pretty good. He got a cup of gumbo, and it was definitely pre-made. I always can tell if food is from the Sysco truck lol. I probably wont go back since there are so many other options in College Station.

1 /5 Michaela: I’ve lived in the Bryan College Station area for about six years off and on. I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and never had to feel like I had to make a review for it. Anytime I’ve come in here I’ve dined in And it’s always been a great experience, but that all changed tonight. Tonight I ordered curbside just a simple fish and french fries my order is 15 minutes late. My fries were cold and I just got three tiny little fish sticks basically so I felt like it was not worth the $15 that I paid so I called and one of the managers was really nice and offered me a free appetizer so I get to go back to the restaurant and grab the appetizer which was mussels and I could not eat the mussels because they were very obviously bad, They smelled awful. They would disintegrate if you tried to touch them. I hope to God I don’t get food poisoning for the one that I did eat. I will never eat at this restaurant again and it’s so sad because this place has always been pretty good. Not sure what happened

5 /5 Andrea B: Service by Caitlyn, drinks and foods were very good. Cranberry mule, sour apple martini, margarita, chicken parm, bacon wrapped scallops, atchafalaya, bourbon salmon, steak, pumpkin cheesecake, and the bread pudding. Breadpudding was the best thing ever, make sure you order it!
