Jennifer Hernandez I was referred to Cortez Automotive by the dealership I bought my car from. I own a 2019 Nissan Altima and I was having trouble with acceleration. I paid 2 mechanics prior to him to 1. Replaced the mass air flow sensor (but they did not clean the throttle body or reprogram) 2. Mechanic just put it on the computer and told me that it was the mass air flow sensor even though I had already replaced it. I am so thankful I reached out to the dealership and they referred me to Mr. Cortez. He found a leak from my transmission and replaced the seal, cleaned, and refilled the oil. Cleaned the throttle body and reprogrammed the car. My car now runs smooth without hesitation! His whole team were very respectful and knowledgeable and Mr. Cortez walked me through the whole process sending me pictures and calling me with updates! I will definitely be recommending him to others.

Rafael Codina I took my truck in because I thought the fuel pump went out , they did a dinostic and turned out to be the throttle body and security system not the fuel pump and got it fixed in a couple of hours and at a reasonable price. Other shops wanted to charge me twice as much without even looking at the truck.......... Kudos to Gonzalez auto shop.

Linda Carter I have went for a vehicle inspection. They did that and also did a courtesy check and found my cabin filter very dirty. The person who told me that quoted a price of 39.99. However, when they prepared my invoice they found it was 10 higher. They gave me a 10 credit, which I thought was nice and good business.

martha perez I’d give 0 stars if possible. For an installation of a hose, we were charged $650!! Crazy prices, he just tries taking your money. No official warranty/receipt. Not professional and rude, stated that we did not know about mechanics justifying his actions. AND to top it off, he claims “Cash only” and did not notify before service. Also did not give estimate beforehand of how much the service would be.

Took it to another place, they said wires were busted and burnt, causing the alternator to mess up. Paid $750 for nothing!! Don’t go here! Stay away!

A police officer pulled over to provide assistance and suggested that I take the car back to Kwik Kar. Before I could make it back, the car stalled and was barely running. I immediately pulled over into a gas station parking lot. I called and explained the situation to the service tech. He asked that I bring it back. I slowly drove the short distance back. The car was driven by the tech and determined to be fine (it was still smoking). The manager suggested that I take it and pay a mechanic to determine if the issue was caused by Kwik Kar. I explained that I have never had issues with the oil change completed by my neighborhood Kwik Kar location (I have been a customer for 3 years). The manager then said something to the effect—“Guess the car didn’t like the new oil change”. I left frustrated and nearly in tears. As I began to drive the 3 miles homes, the car began to engulf the road in a cloud of white smoke. As I tried to pull over into a safe space, the car stopped abruptly-in the middle of traffic. I waited a few minutes and started the car back (another cloud of white smoke) and moved it into a nearby parking lot. I had to call an Uber to take me home. I called the manager back to ask for customer service information and was told to send them an email using the contact information on my receipt. I have completed a survey and will email customer service with videos and a statement. I now have to figure out how to get my car home without further damaging it.

This one I’m reviewing is on Bentsen Road in McAllen just north of 3-Mile Line. Not open on weekends. Best to make appointment, but they do have a locked gate should you need to leave your vehicle overnight. Highly recommend.

Deborah Blanquie This was my first visit to Aloha Auto. They were highly recommended by many on the Nextdoor app. This visit was for an oil change as well as a wiring repair. After their inspection they found my brake pads were in need of replacement (it had been four years since I replaced them) and are watching a few maintenance items that another garage said I needed to replace a year ago. I appreciate that they were honest about what was needed now verses later. They also sent me an Amazon link to a visor that needed replacing. I was able to install that myself.

Paul Wang I am merely stating the facts, and the readers can judge for themselves. On March 20, 2024, I went to the shop to repair a coolant leak. (Before the coolant leak, the vehicle was functioning perfectly, and the engine check light had not turned on.) The shop quoted me $1,422, and we finally agreed on a cash payment of $1,200 for the repair. After the coolant leak was fixed, I drove the vehicle back to my apartment, and the engine check light came on. Since this old car had experienced similar situations before, where the engine check light would turn off after a few days of driving, I didn’t pay much attention to it. However, this time, the engine check light remained on, and the engines condition worsened. The first weekend after I picked up the car from the repair shop, I found a note on my windshield from someone expressing interest in buying my car. On October 11, 2024, I went to another repair shop to have the engine inspected, and they discovered that the ventilation hose was broken. I suspect it was intentionally cut. I didn’t proceed with the repair; instead, I used dry vent tape to connect the ventilation hose myself, and the engine check light turned off automatically.
