1 /5 Diana Perez: My fiancé and I had a frustrating, stressful, and deeply disappointing experience purchasing a suit from Signature Stag and having it altered by their recommended seamstress, Joana. We hope the store reconsiders who they choose to partner with, as her lack of professionalism reflects poorly on their business. Save yourself the stress.

04/08/2025: We had our initial consultation with Ana at Signature Stag to select a suit for our upcoming wedding. After discussing options, we decided to purchase a blue suit from the rental catalog. Ana took detailed measurements, and a size 50 suit was ordered with the understanding that both the jacket and pants would require tailoring to fit my fiancé’s athletic build. We were told we could schedule an appointment with their recommended seamstress, Joana, once the suit arrived.
04/14/2025: At the fitting with Joana, things began to unravel. While the jacket’s shoulder length was a good fit, the sleeves and chest needed adjusting, and the pants required both hemming and waist tightening. Joana seemed unsure of how to identify or address the areas that needed tailoring. When we clarified the desired fit, she became defensive, citing over 30 years of experience. Despite our repeated concerns about the loose waist, Joana marked the pant hems without addressing the fit first—leading to a highwater appearance once the waist was pinched to the correct size. The store manager eventually had to step in and guide her through what we had already explained.
Despite the poor experience, we decided to move forward with Joana based on Signature Stag’s recommendation, her stated experience, and her promise to guarantee satisfaction or redo the work. She told us the suit would be ready by either 04/18/2025 or 04/22/2025 after returning from a trip.
04/22/2025: We contacted Signature Stag to check on the suit’s status, only to be told it wasn’t ready and would be delivered the next day.
04/23/2025: The store informed us that Joana couldn’t deliver the suit due to being double-booked, but it would be ready on 04/24/2025, and she’d be in-store for any further adjustments.
04/24/2025: Yet again, we were told Joana wouldn’t be available—this time due to a chiropractor appointment during our scheduled pickup. We asked if she’d be available before or after that appointment and were told she was unavailable all day. Frustrated and running out of time, we went to the store to try the suit on in hopes it wouldn’t need further work. Ana, who originally helped us, avoided us entirely despite the store being empty. Another employee assisted us.
The pants fit well, and the sleeve length was good, but the chest—our biggest concern—was still far too wide. We explained our tight timeline (our flight for the wedding is just days away on 05/02/2025) and voiced our concerns about whether Joana could deliver. The employee, rather than offering solutions, told us we should take the suit elsewhere if we were unsatisfied with the work— even though we had already paid for alterations and had been promised satisfaction. She downplayed the situation.
Reluctantly, we scheduled one last fitting with Joana for the afternoon of 04/25/2025.
04/25/2025: When we arrived, we were greeted by the presumed manager, who brought us back to Joana. Joana immediately said she wasn’t prepared—she didn’t have any pins. When offered store pins, she refused to use them, claiming they’d damage the fabric. The manager suggested she “eyeball” the adjustments, but Joana flatly stated she couldn’t do anything more without even allowing my fiancé to try on the jacket. She insisted she had already taken it in as much as possible. At that point, with no effort to offer a solution and no accountability, we took the suit home.
Upon closer inspection, we found that the jacket had been unevenly altered—the back seams were taken in disproportionately, resulting in a visibly lopsided fit when worn.
Now, just four business days before flying out for our wedding and $450 later, we are left scrambling to fix a wedding suit that is currently unwearable.
