2 /5 Jessica Grissom: The employees were very rude. I walked up to the counter to exchange a pair of heels, and the three employees at the counter didnt bother to even look up. I said, "Excuse me! I am here to exchange a pair of shoes." The employee looked at me said, "Ok." I asked if I could leave them at the counter and she said, "Um...I guess so." I asked for assistance from a different employee to take a shirt down. The employee sighed. No eye contact, no smile, no conversation. When I was finished with my selection, I walked up to the counter and reminded them I was exchanging two shirts for the pair of shoes. In addition, I was purchasing two sweaters. The gal gave me blank stare and said, "I dont know how to do a return." She continued to stare blankly at the bag of shoes. I said, "Well, maybe one of your co-workers can help?" I was trying to be nice. I worked retail for 10 years. I understand there are plenty of things that a new employee might not know, but FIND OUT! I had to spell EVERYTHING for her as she filled out my info. The thing that got me was when she said, "Zip code?" I told her and she looked at me and said, "Uh - zip code?" I retorted, "That was the zip code!" I admit, I was a bit snappy then. I understand that places that offer lower prices are not always the best at customer service, but they need to try. The employees would talk to each other, but their customer service skills are lacking. After 10 years in retail, I understand things get crazy. It would be nice to have a bit of customer service. I was pleased with my clothing purchase though.
