Downtown Dry Goods - McKinney (TX)

5 /5 Diane Martin: Downtown Dry Goods is usually my first stop in McKinney. They carry so many beautiful fabrics and the staff is more than knowledgeable when answering questions. I also may have to take up knitting because the selection of yarn is also just as incredible as the fabric selection.

4 /5 Jasmine Hughes: Saw people of all ages inside! Though I didnt get anything, because it was all so expensive, the staff were very helpful. Its mostly a yarn store, and they have quilting fabric. But their linens are so expensive all the way from England! Overall a good experience, will come back once I have good quality spending money.

2 /5 Ju Ru (Ju An): If you are into yarns, knotting, crochet, weaving, etc. You will love this place. If you are a serious quilter it might be ok in an emergency for finding something to make do. Its more a yarn shop than a quilt shop. Stood waiting at the table to ask a question and then the clerk directed me to designer fabric rather than wide backing fabric of which they had none. Felt like I had to wait til she felt like asking if she could help. Seemed extraordinarily high $$$ IMO. $34 for a 9 1/2" square ruler. If, as they say, they are catching up with quilting, they have a considerable way to go to be competitive in that area.
