1 /5 Nicole Pletcher: My 4 year old and I walked in, knew what I needed and went and picked up my two pieces of clothing. (Two pairs of pants) A young lady walked up to me and asked if I needed help. Before I could say “I found what I needed, thank you”. She immediately has her arms out to “take my merchandise To the front to hold”. I immediately was like “okay”. And I let her take my stuff. As I continued to search for a dress shirt, I found I was being watched from all angles and they were not being shy about hovering 5 ft away from the sales rack I was looking through. In the 20 minutes that I was there 6 different employees asked me “if I needed help.” And if they could “take my stuff to the front for me”. I don’t know how many more times I could have say no thank you. When I went to check out ($180 for 4 items of clothing) the “manager” named “tea” rung me up and couldn’t bother to utter more than two words to me the entire transaction. I tell her thank you and merry Christmas as I left the cashier desk to leave the store and she didn’t even look up. Extremely distasteful. I’ve never been profiled for stealing before but, working as a department store manager retail I know most store policies. They were not being incognito about it at all and in fact made me feel extremely uncomfortable. So I returned my items not a half our later. When asked what the issue was I was very upfront. The manager was in hearing range and of course still couldn’t bother to say a word. Love that. This was my first time in the store and I will never be going back. Very toxic environment.
