1 /5 Amara Davis: I don’t think I’ll ever return. I came in because my regular nail technician didn’t have any availability before I needed to go out of town, and I remembered having the best pedicure of my life at Venice, so I decided to give it a try again.
I arrived with a similar set of nails, just with about half an inch of new growth. I was charged $70, which I believe is outrageous. In the three or four times I’ve visited, I’ve noticed that the pricing is always inconsistent. When I sat down in the chair, I was quoted a price of $55. Being charged $50 for a fill, in my opinion is excessive. Since I already had short nails, I can understand the price if my nails were long and required restructuring for the appropriate length, but $50 is still unreasonable.
Additionally, I wanted my nails cut down, and I was charged $5 for that. This seems like an unnecessary extra charge, especially since it took less than a minute to do with a drill for both hands. I also think $15 for a thin French manicure is a bit excessive.
While the person who did my nails was very nice and did a great job, I originally requested someone specific who wasn’t available. I could sense that he was joking about me with someone else once I sat down in his chair.
If I wasn’t offered some kind of compensation, I wouldn’t have any interest in returning.
