5 /5 Sorna Chocks: We went on a Sunday, the free tours start from 12:30PM it was informative. The building has so much history, it is well maintained and cleaned, we loved it. Got a chance to see the courtroom, library and assembly! Perfect photoshoot location! The parking garage is very close to the building, it was free on Sunday.

4 /5 Ralph Kitts: Nice place to walk around outside and see the statues and memorials. Inside the Capitol, you can visit the library and see where meetings are held. The central atrium is cool to see. Had to park several blocks away, though. Didnt see any free parking.

5 /5 Auda Gee: In all my years of living in Austin and visiting Austin, not once did I realize the visitor center inside the Capitoll is just a satellite branch.. The real visitor center is just a few steps away from the Capitol. It’s two stories of goodness. Well done. You can do a self-guided tour with QR codes on your phone, or just walk around and look at everything (it’ll take a minute). There’s a couple of short films to watch and so much interesting information to read. As a fourth generation Texan, I’m a little embarrassed of how much I learned. And a whole lot embarrassed how much I spent in the gift shop. Do not pass it up. It’s not cheesy items - but high quality jewelry, gifts, maps, food, drink and everything in between. Friendly staff and it was free! Closest parking is the garage on 12th Street and San Jacinto.

2 /5 Raghavendra Maiya: I visited both Oklahoma City Capitol and Texas Capitol, and found OK Capitol is amazing, not too many visitors, i can peacefully see. All the paintings, finishing, in Oklahoma capitol is spectacular. I found Texas Capitol pretty boring, lighting is very less, Just for comparison purposes I posted two photos, one from OK Capitol and the other TX capitol. You be the judge

Lake Casa Blanca International State Park - Laredo

Kent Harper: I visited mid-May on a weekend and the park was very busy. However, I got a campsite and aside from being not quite level it was nice enough. Wonderful hot water showers! The restroom was clean and fully functional. They have quiet hours at this park, and in fairness, the music did stop in about 9:00 at night, but there were people talking every time I woke up until morning. Oh, and there were some wild hogs fighting right behind my campsite! I found that a bit entertaining, but I suppose not everyone would appreciate it. LOL. Overall, its a pretty nice place to spend the night.

Republic of the Rio Grande Museum - Laredo

John Shelton: The best little must see of early TEXAS history. Confederate history and Laredo TX history. Great building I hope they restore the roof on soon. Cost 2 bucks but worth more. I liked everything about it and will return some day.

Imaginarium of South Texas - Laredo

Alyssa Hernandez: A great place for children to play and explore however I’d wish it was organized. I’m debating getting a membership and did not like that some of the toys were not functional 100% (suction of ball vacune tunnel was subpar) some were jumbled with others stations it was obvious the cleanliness and organization is not a priority. In my experience organization although not synonymous with children… invites for more play. I organize my sons playroom daily and notice he plays much more and really engages when I do this.

Slaughter Park - Laredo

Joshua Steele: Large park with great trails through the woods. Some are even paved. There is also a nice 2 story playground with multiple slides. Clean restrooms, baseball fields, football fields , covered basketball court, large parking lot, exercise equipment and drinking fountains. There is even a snack stand open during certain game times. The parking lot can get packed when the schools have their football games. Even the streets become impassable. There is a water fountain park, but it hasnt been working in a few years.

Border Heritage Museum - Laredo

J C: Tried to visit this museum during their supposed open hours but no one was there and doors were locked! Very frustrating! At least tell folks this place is permanently closed as we went by several days in mid February and was closed during “open” hours. Don’t waste your time!

Laredo Water Museum - Laredo

Robert Canterbury: Terrific venue for meetings our school field trips. Meaningful exhibits showing the critical infrastructure of water, sewer, and Stormwater runoff. Helpful staff. Good location for presentations to small crowd with auditorium style seating and large presentation screen. Also available is smaller conference room with seating for around 20 with good audio/video capabilities.

North Central Park - Laredo

Walker Plaza: The only disc golf course in Laredo is located here. Yes, I love this park.
