5 /5 Ignacio Valdes: This is the 3rd St. Marys. This one was dedicated in July 29, 2023 when the previous church became too small. It is a beautiful sanctuary with many traditional flourishes. What strikes me is the fresh and new but timeless quality of the church which is entirely appropriate for the University students and their families that it serves. I attended with my wife for the Notre Dame vs. Texas A&M football game, presided by the priest President of Notre Dame. It was a great mass. My wifes Czech ancestors assisted in establishing the 1956 2nd St. Marys which I attended as a student in the early 1980s. The graphic iconography is richly done. The dome lifts the soul. The statue of Mary to the left of the altar is noteworthy for her holding a miniature replica of the church. It is lovely. Dont miss the golden statue of Mary holding the Christ child outdoors on the dome. It is a radiant finish for a radiant church.
