Michael Miller: For the low price they ask, youll get a nice experience. Wonderful docents excited to show what they have on display. Of particular interest was a display of letters from around the world that told parts of the story of WWII. Very well done. They also have a fairly rare 49-star flag that only flew at government facilities for one year.

Amarillo Escape and Mystery
Michael S: Driving through the area when a snowstorm forced us to call it a night, and how lucky we were! If we hadnt stopped for a hotel, we wouldnt have stumbled upon this charming and challenging escape opportunity (room number 145)! There are so many things to love about this business starting with their late hours, ease of walk-in booking, welcoming and vibrant waiting room, myriad rooms with new and clever themes, and the genuine good nature of our gamemaster, Jackson. Oh, and I dont think weve seen a room for $25 per person since before COVID. We only had time for one room, so we asked for fun and a challenge and were well rewarded with Christmas Nightmare, a play on the movie "Nightmare Before Christmas." The set-up did a terrific job of having the Halloween vs Christmas divide, and we loved the decor. There were tons of items in the room, but the sticker labels were very clear about what was or was not in play. This room has so many puzzles that generally had to be followed linearly and were often simple, one-step solutions, but the variety and number of puzzles on top of finding the necessary items kept everyone in our group busy. With five of us, we found ourselves bumping into one another on occasion, so I dont think Id try to for more than six active players. Two could do it, but it would be tough, for sure. The hint system was an intercom which worked fine, and Jackson was definitely aware of what we were doing and where we needed to look, next. This is a huge positive in our experiences! He got more specific than we wouldve liked on one puzzle, telling us how to solve rather than hinting at it, but it was one of over a dozen puzzles, so we didnt mind in the long run. Truly, the only negative thing about stopping here to escape is the feeling of regret that we cant stick around to do any other rooms. Time to work on our excuses to come back through Amarillo.

Pippy The Penguin
Roberta Peek: My mom loves penguins so this was a must on my Route 66 journey. No area to park per se unless you go off on the grass but no one is around so I just stopped in the middle of the road and took a quick picture. Hes in a field behind a fence. Just fun to see.

Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian - Amarillo
Kwahadi Museum of the American Indian
Ken Scott: We visited with a group. Its built in traditional Native Kiva style. It represents many plains and pubelo Indians and has a chapter of young dancers that perform occasionally. I highly recommend a visit here to learn more about the history and plight of the native American.
