Oasis Church - Round Rock
Citizenesse: Okay, so far I have visited twice; 11/5 and 11/12. This is the first church that Ive actually attended service in person since I moved here to this area.area (aside from going to St Vincents which has convenient donation bins). I had planned to go someplace different so I was a little overdressed for the service the first time and wore blue jeans the next time. I went to the 11:00 a.m. service on each visit. High marks for being very welcoming. Thank you Latrice (spelling is best hypothesis) for latching on to me. Theyve got that down (positively)cold. The music was very loud with a really heavy emphasis on the bass which hurt my ears. The second visit I had earplugs but forgot to put them in my bag. They are in transition between building their new location and overflowing their current location. Overall, I am still prayerfully considering. I havent gotten a yay or nay. I came back this last Sunday because the first Sunday I was there I prayed for another person that stepped out in the aisle as I did for prayer. I wasnt sure if anyone had prayed for him and I told him that Im a firm believer that prayer changes things and that we were definitely 2 in agreement so theres that. After asking his permission, he agreed and after a side hug we went back to standing at our seats. I am trying to get a better bead on what exactly they believe. I know they stated and I can appreciate the fact that theyre trying to do church differently which is very much appreciated. Doing church for church sake is not the way to go and having grown up in a Pentecostal faith (this was very good and not so good) doing things differently in truth and in spirit is of great interest to me. My recommendation, as with any church, to anyone reading this would be to visit with prayerful consideration and listening observation, absolutely check the scriptures, and make the decision based upon where you think the Lord is leading you.

G C: It feels weird rating a church online but since I found this church through Google reviews I think I should also contribute my thoughts to help others. I was visiting Austin with a friend and came out one day. We immediately felt the love from this community. It is a very welcoming environment, and everyone went out of their way to make you feel loved. I enjoyed the sermon as it came directly from the Bible and was very relatable. Also I really appreciate the worship which was so powerful without the need for fancy equipment. I was blessed tremendously. Its been over a month since my visit but I still think about this church a lot.

Sudeshna Banerjee: We there for the Easter egg hunt yesterday, very well organized, they had more than 15000 eggs to pick up and the areas were marked for each group range. Loved how they organized the whole event. We have been there for watching July 4th fireworks too, and the volunteers are very nice and happy to help. Every event they organize they have chairs and tables set up for attendees in the lawn also hot dogs, water for free and face painting balloon animals for the kiddos.

Meowmix DLT: My kids went to school here, and I wish, I *wish* they had more elementary grades here! The attention they give and dedication they demonstrate in teaching the kids are amazing, excellent teacher-to-student ratio, sweet teachers, clean and wonderful atmosphere. They taught our kids sign language through song. Mother Kelly reinforced this during Good Shepherd chapel. Father Cameron does a good job with sermons. Overall, a great place to be, get your kids to go to school here!
St John Vianney Catholic Church - Round Rock
Monica Negrete: They said they would distribute ashes for our patients but they came to help ONE person with ashes from THEIR church and left EVERYONE else without. The residents were all waiting in the front of the building next to the front door inside the chapel which the folks from the church passed them coming into the building and exiting the building after giving ashes. When I called to ask them to please return so all of our residents would be able to have ashes AS PROMISED, Mary Beth told me “FYI YOUR RESIDENTS AREN’T OBLIGATED TO HAVE ASHES” in such an attitude I was taken aback, as if they hadn’t told us they could help us with ashes previously. Mind you I spoke to them multiple times to confirm they would be able to help our residents prior to Ash a Wednesday with ashes and they told us they could even though they were rude when I called them back the morning of. They told me that they would call me back with a response if they would come back for everyone else and I never even received a call back to find out if they would even return. Instead when I called back I came to find my phone number going straight to voicemail which only leads me to believe they personally blocked my number to avoid talking to me again. My residents cannot get up themselves and I would’ve been FINE asking another church to service the residents had I known this church would treat us so poorly. If it weren’t for our resident that is a member of their church I would ask them to not return. This is just unacceptable from “church people” especially, and on Ash Wednesday when it’s TOO LATE to ask anyone else for help. I called all other Catholic Churches in the area because of them and I couldn’t get any help last minute. I can’t believe they did this still I’m in complete shock honestly and I’m so upset I never want anything to do with this church again and I want everyone to know how they actually treated a local nursing home with elders that cannot get to church and sincerely wanted to participate and were told they could. Unfortunately our residents did not get the ashes they were promised and are upset they were forgotten.
