1 /5 Hope Lozano: This church’s leadership is making poor decisions, so I cannot recommend it. I can tell you that when I had my first sit down, one-on-one meeting with Pastor Dave, it was about having my son baptized at Palm Valley. Instead of being kind and straight forward, I left the meeting thinking Dave was manipulative. We ended up asking our family to drive to Dallas so we could baptize our son at my childhood church. A former family left during COVID because Dave was aggressive toward them at a council meeting when his opinion differed from Dave’s. And from another member (who is currently church shopping): There’s been a lot more communication about money than about bible studies and small groups. It seems like this Pastor wants to lead a mega church.

1 /5 Candice Hyytinen: We are deeply disappointed by the recent decisions made by Palm Valley Lutheran Church regarding its preschool program in spring 2025. Without seeking input from current families, the church abruptly dismissed two long-time, beloved preschool directors and dismantled a program that had become a cherished part of our community. In its place, they are moving toward a five-day-a-week daycare model that does not reflect the values or needs of many families who had trusted and supported the original preschool. The lack of communication and consideration for the children and families affected has been truly disheartening.

1 /5 Sonia Hargrave: The single minded focus of the pastor and his leadership team disgusts me. They claim to want to serve the community but only if it helps bring more money to the church. The welcome is minimal unless you already have an in with familiar faces. They claim to be making changes out of community necessity, but what I see is them competing with other churches with fuller pews and families who aren’t being put down when old Dave doesn’t agree with you. The more I distance myself from the school and previous ministries I ran for this church the more horror stories I hear about his treatment and single minded focus on bringing more money to the church and harsh judgements. Doesn’t seem like a man following God but the will of self.
