06-2025 Old Fire Station Museum in Hight rate 2 location for tourist in Kaufman, TX, USAMuseum Don Meredith Exhibit - Mt Vernon Danielle Newsom: A lot of love put into these well thought out exhibits! Loved the history, art work, bird eggs, butterflies, Native American history, and whittled objects. So much to explore!
Franklin County Historical Association - Mt Vernon Sheryl Divin: Franklin County Texas is rich with history and the Historical Association and town of Mt Vernon do a very good job of honoring it. I loved all the signs in front of century old houses and the charming square. A true hidden gem.
Gaines County Museum - Seminole Krista Klause: We are in town from San Antonio and stopped by the museum to learn about some Seminole history. Itās a great little museum with a lot of history. Stop by and see Sally, sheās great!
Rainforest Pyramid - Galveston Soney: Recommend buying the value pass one day or more in advance to save the most money. The rainforest pyramid was my favorite part of moody gardens. Everything is laid out so well and you can see everything from birds to monkeys, fish turtles and lizards. And tanks with weird insects as well. We got up close and personal with some gorgeous birbs, they just randomly landed and walked around with people. What more can you ask for.
Galveston Seawall - galveston - Galveston Kaushal Ramani: I recently took a trip from Houston to the Galveston Seawall, and it was such a great way to unwind! We arrived just in time for sunset and spent about an hour thereāwatching the sky light up with those gorgeous colors over the water was absolutely beautiful.
Thereās plenty of street-side paid parking, so finding a spot wasnāt a hassle. The beach stretches for miles, making it perfect for a relaxing stroll or just soaking in the views.
If youāre looking for a laid-back evening by the coast, Iād definitely recommend swinging by!
