3 /5 Michelle C.: We waited a month from the date the patients pediatrician referred her to this orthopedist to be scheduled to see Dr. Vissers. We waited an hour and 15 minutes past the scheduled appointment time for the doctor to see the patient, and although we were not given an explanation or apology at the time of the appointment, Dr. Vissers did take extra time to explain the patients issue to us and review the patients background. Dr. Vissers referral for orthotics took 3 business days to be submitted, but after seeing this review (which has been updated to also include the positive aspects now that my concerns have been addressed), he called me personally to explain that it only took so long because he was doing more research to make sure thats what the patient needed. When I mentioned my complaints to his staff, their only explanation was that he sees a lot of patients. However, when I mentioned it all to Dr. Vissers personally, our conversation resulted in clear explanations on his end and me feeling respected, educated, and understood. I may not recommend his staff, but Dr. Vissers does seem to genuinely care about not only his patients health but his relationship with the patients. Instead of simply dropping the patient due to this review or ignoring my comments, Dr. Vissers reached out personally to address my concerns so that he can continue to provide the care the patient needs in the best way possible.
