5 /5 Rana El-Zughbi: Newman’s Castle in Bellville, Texas is such a unique and fun experience! The castle is full of character, with many different rooms to explore—each with its own style and charm. My favorite part was climbing all the way to the top and ringing the huge bell! It was such a cool moment. The staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Just a tip: make your reservation online in advance—they close early and spots can fill up fast. Plan ahead and stop by the bakery in town before heading to the castle; it’s a nice bonus to the trip. The castle sits on a hill, and you’ll park your car under the trees. Wear something comfy—you’ll be walking on dirt paths and stones. Overall, it was a wonderful outing and a great spot to visit with family or friends, with plenty of nearby places in town to explore afterward.

5 /5 mary Pittman: Go online and get your tickets in advance to be sure that they are actually allowing self tours on the day you want to go, as there are a lot of private events. And there are private photo shoots held at the castle most afternoons. Currently, you are able to tour the castle. Between ten thirty and one p m six days a week. I love the fact that the tour is self guiding, so you can go at your own pace. And for the mere cost, lunch is included. Sandwiches, chips, a drink, and cookies or donuts. If you were looking for a commercialized castle with a guide or someone in every room to explain to you different things, this is not what you will find. You can start touring the castle around 10:30 AM. At 11 am, the castlel keeper, who is the builders nephew, has everyone join in a group. He tells you about the castle and his uncle. He answers all questions the crowd asks of him. Afterward, you are free to go into the large dining room and grab your lunch, and continue touring at your pace until 1 p m. Newmans castle is unique, historical, educational, and enjoyable. Its the real thing and not commercialized. A mans dream, achieved. I did not post photos of every room or view. Go! Enjoy!

5 /5 S. Culifer: I enjoyed this tour very much. The admission includes a sack lunch and drink. You can sit down inside the castle to eat. The lady serving lunch was very kind and helpful as well as the young lady giving a speech on the castle. The self tour gives you the time to stop and really look at everything inside the castle. It was definitely worth the drive.
