All Makes Automotive - San Marcos Wj Charlton: I used to love this business bc they were reasonably priced, fixed only what was needed, and let me bring my own parts. I’ve had body work, brakes, and electrical work done with them.
But they don’t do that any more. Tried to charge me $5,500 to fix a 2007 car - and come to find out it only needed spark plugs.
They won’t let you buy parts direct bc they mark up the price 40% (after market) or 20% OEM. Different markup %, but same high profit bc OEM base price is much higher.
At these prices, you’re better off going to the dealer bc they’ll be direct about what’s needed. All Makes tried to replace things that didnt need it.
PS - I changed the plugs myself for $15 and it fixed it.
PPS - and their policy is they don’t give refunds no matter what. Stereotypical sketch mechanic.
