Michelle D: Our family visits a lot of zoos and aquariums. What we love about the San Antonio Aquarium is how interactive the exhibits are. There are dozens of opportunities to pet and feed the animals. We spent a long time at the big tank interacting with stingrays. Also, our 12 and 15 year olds enjoyed the lemur experience for a little extra money (4 tokens). Three generations on this visit, and we all had a great time.

Asim Kiani: Stepping into the Japanese Tea Garden felt like being transported from Texas to Japan in an instant. Every corner was breathtaking, with lush greenery, vibrant plants, and serene waters filled with lively fish that brought the scenery to life. Every turn revealed a new sight to admire, making it a dream for photos. The waterfall was mesmerizing, and the climb to higher grounds rewarded us with spectacular views. This place truly captured our hearts and souls—a peaceful retreat where visitors of all ages can find beauty and joy. Beyond its stunning landscapes, the garden was well-maintained, with clean bathrooms and plenty of parking, making the experience even more enjoyable. A must-visit spot for anyone in San Antonio!

Kaleigh Watson: What a wonderful way to spend family time. This public park has something to offer for children of all ages. There is a splash pad, large checkers, ping pong and chess available. There is also agility playgrounds and a place for younger children to play. Food is easily accessible for an all day trip. There is also wade pools with plenty of seating for parents to watch their children. Park is kept up beautifully as well.

    Briscoe Western Art Museum
Sue Martindale: Very interesting museum in an historic first library in San Antonio. We visited mid-week during Spring Break 2025. There is an admission fee to view the exhibits of many types of art and historical artifacts (like wagons); a history lesson around every corner. Some of the bronze sculptures dont look like bronze. Just beautiful. There is an open area patio off to the side of the building that is open for passersby to step inside the gated area to view the many bronze sculptures and ceramic dioramas. Guards mingle with the guests to ensure nothing is touched inside. They were very friendly and enjoyed talking with visitors.

    San Antonio Fire Museum
Lindsay L: Visited the fire museum yesterday and had such a great experience! The retired fire fighters working there are so nice and did a great job of showing us around the museum. Perfect for kids, my two sons loved it. Between the antique fire trucks to the kids area it was a hit for our family. I would definitely suggest visiting.

Selena velazquez: They only had one girl running the whole building… She was nice. Our game started 20 minutes late, because they were having technical difficulties with one of the rooms so we ended up doing the heist. The decor in the room was amazing!! It was honestly was really cool but some of the puzzles were far fetched. We had to ask for three hints on one puzzle alone because it didn’t make sense. We were able to get through all the other puzzles with no hints. We did escape with 6 minutes left which was nice.

Tim Woody: Not impressed. We have been to many, many museums, and this was the worst experience weve ever had. On the positive side, if you like Napoleonic memorabilia, youll possibly enjoy it. If you like home restorations, you might enjoy it. But... upon entering, there was a musky odor that was rather annoying. The house felt like we were visiting a grandmas house with thousands of nick knacks everywhere. The non-tour guide, tour guide (which was weird because its a self-guided tour) literally shadowed us, often standing directly behind or adjacent to us about 90% of the time. Upon entering, she kept looking at the pockets on my shorts, and continued to do so almost every time I turned to look at her. It really felt weird. I looked down several times to try to figure out what she kept looking at, and I assume she saw the key fob from my car causing a slight bulge. I later I figured that she was super paranoid I was going to steal something. She talked to us like she was annoyed and seemed to talk down to us like we were children. It was VERY uncomfortable. And then... the house used to be a brothel? Yikes. I will not recommend it to anyone. This place is bizarre and staff is not friendly. BUT, the girl was knowledgeable. ... thus the 2 stars.

P L: Unfortunately, this pool is not open until “the 2025 pool season” according to the city’s page. I’m not sure when exactly that is but I’ll make an effort to update this after I call them. We made the trip from the Austin area and were disappointed to see it was totally closed and there were several homeless people surrounding the area. We left quickly since we had a backup plan anyway. The pool itself is quite dry but would be beautiful once open. Google said this pool is open but this is not the case.
