Tactical Reef: Travel nurse here. I’d been wanting to check the church out since moved here 3 weeks ago but my schedule at the hospital didn’t work out with how late I would get off work on Wednesday nights. I was finally able to make it 08/07/2024…. Completely disappointed… let me explain….. I parked, was greeted with a hello and welcome at the door, I stopped and asked “is there a welcome kiosk?” She pointed it to me instead of possibly connecting someone with me to show me exactly where , well, I didn’t find it by the coffee bar so I went inside the auditorium. I wasn’t greeted by one person, from that point on. I was a lost soul at a crossroad who was trying to find an open seat but didn’t want interrupt anyone during worship to take a seat next to them. Leaving was no different. I was ignored at the welcome table that the pastor suggested “1st timers visit” at the end of the service. I’m a strong believer in the Lord and on fire for HIM. But I will say…. Had I been an atheist coming to church for the 1st time it would have been an absolute disaster…from the welcome to the direction of connection there was such a loss of communication here. Maybe had I shown up with my wife and kids that are not here on my travel job with me someone may have tried to connect…. But unfortunately I was ignored. It’s unfortunate cause had such high hopes of connecting and become part of a local family during my contract at the hospital… my suggestion is this. Take my comment, have a team huddle within the volunteers and FIX IT. You may not think you’re turning ppl away but with my experience you are not putting forth what you preach in reference to CONNECTION. It’s unfortunate. I MIGHT give it a chance on a forth coming Sunday but for now this is my experience for a Wednesday night.
