5 /5 John Fwu: This is a wonderful place in the nature to view the total solar eclipse. We were able to feel different bugs and birds chirping transitions during the solar eclipse phases!

5 /5 Rianna Alvarado: Fabulous place to learn about nature’s “kidneys”. They have a beautiful educational room with floor maps and interesting facts on the wall. The wetlands are always well maintained with regular mowing and it’s great fun to explore the boardwalks and observe the natural world. They also offer small guided tours. Many dog walkers come to enjoy the space with their leashed companions .

5 /5 Dena McMullen: We love this place! There is plenty to explore and it isnt too far outside of town... about 15 minutes. Someone mentioned that a fire had damaged the wetlands. To clarify, it was a prescribed burn, which are used to manage overgrowth and improve the habitat. We visited recently and everything has grown back nicely. My oldest kid enjoyed taking photos of everything!

5 /5 steve ridley: We walked around this place for 90 minutes in warm sunshine. The education centre is super informative, and the bird watching is great. A nice break from our road trip.

Blake Hill: This place was really good. Cool stuff inside and outside and they do flights as an option. My son really enjoyed the cockpit he could play around in. They work off of donations, so take care of them.

The I-20 Wildlife Preserve & Jenna Welch Nature Study Center - Midland

John Agudelo: It is a true wild life preserve. It was pretty dry when I went and I initially was planning on going for a run. I went alone so just decided to walk to check it out. Its actually really pretty but there are real animals out there. Im glad I got to see some real wildlife. Id say just be careful, especially with younger children but definitely worth checking out

Beal Park - Midland

Eric Hamilton: Its a park in West Texas so its full of stickers and the plants are rarely green. they do have a dog park here which doesnt appear to have as many stickers as the rest of the park. there is a very small pond here that people fish at. there are baseball fields and a skate park. There are Soccer fields as well. Sadly it is one of the better parks in Midland.

We will be back just because of you. The nature center is kid friendly, clean, educating, and has so much more than just trails! Can’t wait to come back.

Midland County History Museum - Midland

Michael Miller: Free museum that features two main halls. The first one is WWII and is a nice tribute to the locals that fought in the war. The second hall is (if I understand correctly) a floating exhibit. I saw exhibits about the local community theater and found it to be charming. Docent was very friendly. Plan on 20-30 minutes. Worth a stop.
