4 /5 Juan Huerta: Erected by the state of Texas back in 1936, the monument to Rene Robert Cavallier encloses losts of historic facts about US History. The place is very well located and includes information but it should be better kept and maintained periodically. It certainly looks more like and abandoned mark.

4 /5 Thomas Piland: The LaSalle Monument at Indianola is a significant statue marking the location or port that ships carrying Polish and German immigrants docked and unloaded the new soon to be citizens. Indianola was the second largest port of entry in Texas, after Galveston. However, Indianola was low lying town and later destroyed by a separate Category 4 Hurricane and a Category 3 that made landfall 11 years later. Regarding the monument, I was disappointed that the Polish plaque didn’t mention the Polish towns such as Kosciusko or Panna Maria. The German heritage plaque was much more informative.

Julia DeWitt: Amazing. Good for a short trip. Good historical background info on signage along trail. Visitor center has BARK Ranger tags for dogs The park ranger is very friendly! Park is very dog friendly.

Resaca De La Palma State Park & World Birding Center - Brownsville

Alejandro Garcia: Great place for a hike or a bike ride. Plenty of wildlife to observe. On our last visit, we ran into a bobcat on Bobcat Lane. There were also plenty of birds and lizard, including the Texas horned lizard. The Park features plenty of benches along the paths to rest for a little bit. Looking forward to many more visits..

Sabal Palm Sanctuary - Brownsville

Dave Bowmaster: The first floor of the plantation house is open for self-guided tours and is very nice. The upper floors are closed to the public. The garden area and the grounds are great. We hiked most of the 3 miles of trails. They are reasonably well marked and are easy to hike in dry weather. Most of the trails are dirt. There are several good bird blinds and a deck overlooking the Rio Grande River. Birding is good here.

Historic Brownsville Museum - Brownsville

Marlene Mendoza-De La Torre: Not very full of artifacts. The receptionist seemed surprised to see anyone walk in. She asked what we needed. To which I replayed to visit the museum. She didn’t direct us in anyway. We found the train section completely on our own, I’m not sure we even got to see everything, there might have been sections we missed just because not everything is the same room. The train section is in another building. They need to hire friendly helpful people who love history and engage with visitors.

LACrosse FA: I have 3 kids so ,I have been in many zoos around the country,like FL ,CA,GA etc ,let me Tell you this one is spectacular, beautiful, fantastic zoo. Has a variety of animals,clean, and good people here. I want to thanks everybody in the zoo. I love this zoo. 1 of the best

Stillman House Museum - Brownsville

Melissa Rodriguez: We didnt really know what to expect from this small museum but truly enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly and informative. The entrance was $6. It has different sections detailing important events that marked the history of the area. I like that they have some interactive displays. I recommend this place. The house was also interesting to see.

Brownsville Historic Battlefield Trail - Brownsville

Josue Castillo: Ok mountain bike trail… best part was the possibility of having to dodge a rattlesnake or two. They could put more money into mountain Bike parks in this reason of the country to attract people to increase the tax.

Resaca de la Palma National Battlefield - Brownsville

Ulyses Yakovlevich: Another incredible piece of history right in the middle of Brownsville. Literally a 10-ish minute drive down the road from the Palo Alto battlefield in north Brownsville, this site is kept in just as excellent condition. Considerably smaller than palo alto but the scenery is just as good. Highly recommend to everyone to visit this place, great piece of history here with lots to learn!

Boca Chica To Mars Mural - Brownsville

Metroid EX: Theres a small update to the mural. There is a "Hello, my name is Luigi M." name tag that wasnt there before. If youre a fan of Elon, dont worry this wasnt vandalized. The artist himself @popc_ultre added it. Heres what he said on Instagram: "Elon called me (wonderful people) he told me to add "Hello, my name is Luigi M." He loved the mural.
