1 /5 Alysha Coddington: Went in with a possible broken foot and took
my son for what looked like a brown recluse bite or MRSA plus ongoing nausea, stomach pain and vomiting.
Other than an x ray that a radiologist wont read for 3 or 4 days, the doctor never touched me to examine me. She did not even ask me to take off my sock to see the foot.
I told her ibuprofen, ice and elevation did not help and my pain level was between 7-8. She sent in a prescription for another NSAID, forgot to give me a doctors note she promised me for a day off to rest my foot.
Gave me no follow up instructions beyond coming back for an Ortho referral if it wasnt better in 3-5 days.
Called back for discharge treatment info and was told she told me way more including to CONTINUE to wrap a foot that was never wrapped by myself or her. She did not tell me anything about putting weight on the foot or anything else for treatment.
She ignored my concern about possible ligament damage since SHE did not see a break on the x rays.
My son was given antibiotics that are hard on the stomach. She blew off my concerns about MRSA. She never talked to him about his stomach problems and did no exam on him other than glancing at the wound on his arm. She did not advise on treatment when the wound but open and left a large hole in his arm.
The staff seemed more concerned about closing early than treating myself or my child
Update: An area manager called and apologized. Said hed have a nurse call me to provide me more information.
All I got from her was a re-reading of the chart with more useless info than the doctor gave me. A LOT of condescension, and she said a physical exam of stance, flexibility, range of motion or anything would not differentiate between a bruise and a sprain.
DO NOT trust them with any type of sports injury.
I would like everyone to see the obvious broken bone that this location made me walk out on diagnosed as a contusion
