Everyone here does great nails, is kind, and makes you feel like you’re really being taken care of. I never write reviews, but I had to show off these chrome nails Philip just did for me because they’re incredible! He took so much time to make sure they were perfect and they are. Highly recommend him and Anna who did these purple nails on my niece with the same care!
Cowboys Nail Bar - McKinney Priscilla Marowa: One nail fell off the day after and the rest Only lasted me two weeks and I wasn’t treated well I thought every customer gets the same treatment but I guess not the manager lady or whoever she is wasn’t nice they were giving out a Christmas gifts to all the white woman when they left but when it was my turn to leave I was dismissed and I clocked what was happening that not everyone here gets the same treatment which is a shame . The guy who did my nails was really nice though
Mint Pro Beauty - McKinney Elena: Aigul is great, I have been doing my nails with her for years and always had the best experience. This new location is very nice and clean, love coming here.
GrandLux Nails Salon - McKinney Heather Green: I’ve been going to Grandlux Nails since it opened. The manager, Heather, is polite and professional every time I go. If you want a great pedicure ask for Holly!! She takes her time and is thorough. For manicures, V, is the one to ask for!! Her attention to detail is top notch.
LA Nails - McKinney dev hosa: Ive been here twice and they are always super nice and do a great job on my nails! And they are reasonably priced!!
Majestic Nail Spa - McKinney Mornae Wallace: By far the WORST PEDICURE I’ve ever had. The male nail tech performed an illegal hangnail procedure without my permission. I’ve never had a hangnail before in my life. Then he cut my toenails all the way down and cut me, making me bleed. This gave me an INFECTION. I’ve never had anything like this happen at other salons. Then, they are ignoring my calls and pretending that the manager is never there. They won’t give my money back. My entire toe swelled up and was so freaking painful I couldn’t even walk on it for a week. Photos attached. (Picture with green nails is what my toes normally look like after pedicures at other salons.)
Update: Manager reached out and stated they can’t give refunds but offered a gift card or service redo instead. Stated that they had a conversation with the technician about appropriate procedures and cleanliness. She said the technician may have tried to “over clean” my cuticles instead of hangnails but I’m not sure as I’ve never had either scenario happen to me before.
Changing review to 2 stars for follow up and offering the gift card.
Deluxe Nail Salon - McKinney Rose: Hello, I’ve been a customer at the salon for a very long time. Recently, I tried the overlay service again and traditional nail polish as I always have for years. Typical services for me are pedicure and manicure.
I decided to write this review, not about the technician as they are very nice and I don’t have any complaints about them.
This is about me going back and asking for correction and being told that we don’t guarantee traditional polish.
My thought, when I came in to have the service no one said if you’re going to use traditional polish, any issues down the road will be at your expense as we don’t guarantee traditional polish.
When I came back the following Monday less than a week later, showed them the state of my nails and I was met with, OK sure but this is not our problem. We don’t guarantee traditional polish.
I’ve never experienced degradation of the polish that I did this time around. When I left the evening of the first service, there was a chip before I made it to my car. Likely because they weren’t dry and yes, the salon had closed, but I thought no big deal. It’s a small chip. However, as the week continued on my nails, ended up looking awful by the following Monday.
When I returned the following Monday I was met with the statement above but, I decided to go forward with gel polish. The gel doesn’t look much better. It’s lost its shine. There are lots of scratches on the surface of the nail.
I spent $170 in less than seven days on a pedicure and an overlay with both polish types. No extensions no dip. None of this other fancy extras the ladies do nowadays just something simple.
I’m not suggesting not to visit the salon. The people are usually pretty nice and my recent experience that prompted this review doesn’t speak to the majority of the visits that I’ve had here. I do want to strongly encourage you to leave satisfied, and if there’s anything that needs to be addressed beforehand, go ahead and do it.
Fancy Nails - McKinney Jo Ann G: I love this quiet little salon. It is calm and peaceful with no big drama or hype. Only three nail artists so you need an appointment. It is a lovely, calm quiet atmosphere like going to a spa. Super clean and highly skilled work. Very reasonable prices. It is tucked back behind a Sonic Drive-in in a small strip center.
Mystique Nail Spa - McKinney Ann Dutze: Lily and Ricky really do a great job with my nails. I love coming in and being treated like a friend. You are not on an assembly line with Lily and Ricky. They take care to get the experience right. It is lovely to be there and fun to chat with Lily, they are great people and you should support them, you will not be disappointed.
LYN SHINY NAILS - McKinney Desiree Shirer: I stopped by today before 10 am, l called and a gentleman picked up and offered me to open right away for me . I appreciate the kind and warm service. I had been in this nail salon before but now, it is under new administration (new name too) and l will for sure keep coming.
They constantly offer you something to drink (even hot tea which l love!). They did a 10% discount and gave me a free lotion as a new client.
Last but not least. Lyn did my nails and l usually don’t do French nail tip because it hurts, however she did an amazing job. Very happy with my experience today. Highly recommended.
