Bill Murch: Very deep in historical information. The battle here is what lord to "Cinco de Mayo". Great experience! End of match every year. You should go. Take chairs and like sack lunch to munch and enjoy on the grounds. Free parking.
Sandra Lee: We had an absolutely amazing experience at this Texas State Park! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in the beauty and charm of the area. The fun we had and the memories we created are truly special to us. A huge thank you to the Texas State Park community for making our stay unforgettable!
Thereās so much to explore hereāwinding trails beckon you to adventure, while cozy campfires invite evenings filled with stories. Additionally, the rich history of this part of Texas adds an extra layer of magic to the experience. We feel incredibly grateful to have had the chance to be part of this wonderful place. Thank you for everything!
Raul Gomez: Breathtaking! Such a beautiful place. I have been coming to Goliand for many years and took time to notice the other attractions the town has to offer. This little park May be small, but it has a long nature trail that takes through some prestige wooded areas. It also takes you to what used to be a bridge that was a an old rail line that crossed over the San Antonio River. And a boardwalk that brought you as close as it can to the rivers edge.
Tracy Ann McCurry #TcMacDesigns: Beautiful place in Texas history. Begining around 1780, my family lived here many years. Tumlinsons Texas Rangers, heroes, fighters and pioneers! Thank you to everyone who has built and managed this place in Gonzales, Texas!
Kellye Laake: Such an awesome little historical town. My mother visited this place in the Square when she was a little girl... hope this history can stay around as many are choosing to destroy and erase it .
Lisa Morris: The park is fabulous on a hot day. The swimming pool looks clear and wonderful. Plenty of areas along the water to sit and have a picnic. Fun areas for the kids. Beautiful trees and views of the water.
Sue Taylor: The museum offered a few historical items, including the āCome and Take Itā cannon and a few other Alamo memorabilia pieces. The museum has two sections. One section houses the Alamo items and the other section houses miscellaneous historical items. However, there is very little narrative provided for this second section. So, although the items are interesting, thereās very little context provided. If you happen to be in the area, then it isnāt a bad stop (although a bit pricey for whatās available). We drove almost two hours to visit and were very disappointed with what was offered. It was definitely not worth a long trip.
