4 /5 Mahailey Oliver: This unit of the state park is small, but we enjoyed walking the historic fort grounds, which took about an hour and a half. The park rangers were friendly. Their office has $1 used books for sale. Our only complaints are that the wood is rotted under our cabin door frame, so when the thunderstorms and tornado warnings were happening, rainwater seeped right into the cabin. We threw our towels down to sop up most of the puddle. Additionally, our section of the campgrounds has an easily floodable spot at the exit point, so we almost weren’t able to leave this morning during the flash flood warning. The cabin has a great AC (though we lost power around 11pm and it was still out when we checked out 12 hours later, but the night was cool enough and we managed without AC for the night.) We also wished there was a pole with a hook like you’d see at other state park campsites. Bathrooms were really clean! Didn’t get a chance to test out the shower since the power was out and it was dark, but we liked that each shower stall had its own light.
