1 /5 Michael Rodriguez: I love the Unitarian communities that me and my family were a part of when we lived in Colorado. This church, however, does not reflect a welcoming community like we have experienced in the past.
We went for the Easter 2024 service with our kids and we were directed to a balcony area that seats children. Shortly after sitting down, I was told that my kids were too loud and needed to be quiet from a not so lovely member. My kids hadn’t said a word at that point and were doing great at that point. I know that this could just be a rude member, but multiple people came around shushing the kids during the service. They did not have the nursery open since it was Easter.
Why even have kids at the service if you are going to give them candy, toys, and then make them sit in the sanctuary while being quiet? This church does not value children in their community. I would give this church a half star review if I could. The best thing I could say about the experience is that the greeter was very nice during our entrance and our early exit.
