Jane Doe: The WORST hair experience I have ever had. I have very long hair and was going in just looking for a good trim - asking for about 4 inches off. I made it very clear to Rhonda that I wanted to keep the length and I even showed her a reference picture with the long layering I was asking for. She then preceded to carelessly chop off about 8-10 inches of my hair leaving it completely uneven and choppy, and then had the nerve to ask me “if I was going to miss the length?”. I was so shocked and upset I had to leave the salon for a minute to calm down. I would give this place zero stars if I could. Do not let this woman touch your hair. It will take me years to grow back the hair that she so carelessly decided to cut and even after all of this I had to go somewhere else to try to fix the mess she made.

Cory Choate: Until this last Saturday, for the past 10 years I have had my haircut by the same person in Austin. Due to circumstances, I will no longer be able to have that person cut my hair. In searching for someone new in Bastrop, amongst many other salons, I came across Hairworks. My decision to choose Hairworks was based on the owner attributing her success, on her website, to God. I had the pleasure of Virginia cutting my hair this last Saturday. Being VERY particular about my haircut, I was skeptical of someone new! I was wrong! Virginia is PHENOMENAL! 10 out of 10 stars on the haircut by Virginia! The salon is very cute, very welcoming, and Virginia charges a respectable $25 versus others in town charging $55. Thank you, Virginia! See you in 2 weeks!

Chris was so friendly, made me feel welcome and made sure I knew exactly what he was doing. He took me through every step and made sure I was comfortable during the process. If you’re looking for someone who does great work and is super easy to talk to, Chris is the person to go to! Like I said in the beginning, best cut and color I’ve gotten, left me feeling beautiful and with a big a smile because of his amazing service!

Rose is knowledgeable and skilled at what she does and after chatting with her for a single 30/60 minute appointment, you’ll leave wishing she was your best friend— guarantee it. A side note: I’ve tried two skincare brands that Rose carries (Hale & Hush and Skinscript) and they’re both amazing and I am OBSESSED. She also carries amazing candles, jewelry, and even cute socks! Also, I used Alan the last hair service I had (cut, color, style) and got *so* many compliments! I’ll attach a photo of my skin with minimal makeup and one of my hair right after my service with Alan (though the lighting on that one doesn’t do the color justice) ☺️ Salon Arcanum is a clean, professional, and well-priced beauty service salon. Michelle Smith: I recently called Mel with Call for Beauty to have my hair and makeup done for my 30yr anniversary and vow renewal. Mel was so wonderful and my hair and makeup was way beyond what I could have dreamed of. My appointment was set around noon. The vow renewal was at 6pm. My make up held up all afternoon and well into the night. My hair never fell and my curls stayed in my hair, which is a hard thing to do. Mel made magic happen for my special day and I highly recommend her for any special event anyone may have. I will be using her again.

Weve gotten better haircuts at great clips for half the price.
