5 /5 Chris Ash: Such a great and cute museum! We went out on a Saturday and it was filled with so much more stuff than we were expecting! The largest collection of spurs youll ever see, military things, vehicles and furniture going back to the 1800s, and much more! And its FREE! Definitely go by if you want to do something fun on an afternoon!

5 /5 Jeri Rainer: My daughter & I visited this lovely place while driving to Gatesville on an errand. It was such a neat hidden gem. I say hidden because it does not look that big from the outside, but it is actually huge! It was so nice to have visited on their first day of reopening due to getting a new elevator (it has two stories). The volunteers were so sweet and offered up their knowledge on the displays, which was truly appreciated. There is so much history here including the Lloyd and Madge Mitchell world’s largest spur collection and stories behind these extraordinary people. I appreciated the diversity in the museum as well. There were so many displays and narratives posted, that it would take all day to read through it all. If you appreciate Texas History, it’s definitely worth experiencing this museum. I’d like to pop in again if I get the chance to read all of the narratives that I didn’t have a chance to get to last time. The hours were: Wednesday - Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.

5 /5 Hawk C: I loved this!!! Super cute a lot to see, I would recommend for young kids since not a lot to interact with. But excellent for the older crowd and those who enjoy history. A LOT to read and learn and its pretty neat of a niche!

5 /5 Jeff Schmidt: Nice local museum in the downtown area. We spent several hours looking at the large number of artifacts and talking to the volunteers. Everything from old cars to newspapers and a log cabin jail that was moved in with an addition to the building built around it. The volunteers are a treasure in and of themselves: full of local information.

5 /5 Taylor Bird: What a lovely place run by lovely people! Entry is completely free, they have fossils, dollhouses, interactive displays, a garden area and entire cars ! Rooms are turned into lifelike displays and theirs an incredible attention to detail. Most all areas are wheel chair accessible, ramps, wide pathways, elevator lift etc. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting and am so glad gatesville has something like this!

Crosby County Pioneer Memorial Museum - Crosbyton

Jordan Clement: Wonderful staff, knowledgable tour guides, and engaging displays ranging from fossils to farming equipment, Native American artifacts to antique typewriters. This museum is definitely worth a day trip visit!!! The museum does a great job of showing the bravery and ingenuity of this area’s early settlers. When we entered the museum manager saw that we were a little warm from the sun and immediately offered to get us water bottles. So kind. They also have a nice selection in their gift corner including this beautiful piggy bank made from a working antique post office box door from the old Crosbyton post office functioning from 1930’s to mid 1960’s. It’s a great little piece of local history to take home!

XIT Museum - Dalhart

Rykki Osborne: This is a very small museum in the downtown of a small town, but worth it. The collection isnt huge, but they have some nice little displays. The local wildlife exhibit is small in size, but has a good variety including footprints and some bones. Some of the museum is still under development, with the beginning framework for a new exhibit on the dust bowl that is open to the public while theyre building it out. It has a nice little experience where you enter to a small home to experience the sounds of a dust storm with a narrator giving a first person description of life during the dust bowl period. It makes for a nice immersive experience.

The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden - Dallas

Auburn Photography: I absolutely loved photographing a wedding at the Dallas Arboretum. It’s hands down one of the most beautiful venues I’ve worked at. The grounds are so well maintained—everywhere you look there’s a stunning backdrop, which made my job so easy. From romantic garden shots to wide scenic views of the lake, it truly has it all. The staff was so kind and helpful throughout the day, which makes such a difference for both the couple and vendors. It’s also such a large space that it works well for any wedding size—whether youre planning something intimate or a big celebration. If you’re considering this venue, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s a dream spot for weddings and the photos turn out incredible every time.

Kim Billings: The Dallas World Aquarium is such a magical place! Every turn offers something incredible to see, and the exhibits are beautifully done. From the lush rainforest at the entrance to the colorful marine life exhibits, every part of the experience is thoughtfully designed and breathtaking. The variety of animals you get to see — from sloths and birds to sharks and rays — is truly impressive. Everything is well-maintained, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It’s a great place to learn, explore, and just be amazed by the beauty of nature. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Dallas! It’s perfect for all ages, whether you’re bringing kids, going on a date, or just exploring on your own. Highly recommend spending a few hours here — you won’t want to leave!

michael lee: Had a great time with my girlfriend here. Bingo was pretty fun and the view was great! Only giving 4 starts because I could not redeem the free desert card won in bingo at the Crown Block. If you win bingo get anything other than a free desert card unless you’re dressed fancy. Would highly recommend going around sunset for golden hour photos.

The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza - Dallas

Christine Morgan: Well done exhibit, took about 90 minutes to see everything (except watch videos). Very heavy on reading. Young children would be bored. Fairly crowded but still able to move easily though exhibit. Bought our tickets online about 30 minutes in advance, no wait to enter. Improvements I might suggest that would increase my rating might be providing more context to videos (they were kind of off set from rest of exhibit) and maybe adding additional clips of audio or interviews from bystanders if available. Overall, would definitely recommend.
