1 /5 Hollie Costlow: *** REVIEW OF RN, JENNIFER HENDRY**
Let me preface this by saying, I have been to this facility on and off as needed over the past 2 years and have had nothing but good experiences, so my typical rating would be 5 stars, but the experience my sister had today was awful and needs to be mentioned. Jennifer Hendry our daytime nurse with “12 years of ER experience”) was absolutely awful and demeaning. Everything we asked was met with a smart remark. She spoke to us as if we were idiots. My sister came in to be tested for COVID, flu, strep, etc. due to her wide range of symptoms, in which she was told it wasn’t necessary because she didn’t have a fever and “all things are treated the same”. When asked if strep throat is treated the same (knowing it absolutely is met with antibiotics) Jennifer smarted off and said she had none of the symptoms… body aches, sore throat, sicknesses persisting x 5 days. It may not be the most likely option, but it was still a viable option. My sister works at a daycare and needed to know for sure what she may have, as requested by her employer, and nurse Jennifer couldn’t be bothered. It was finally decided that my sister would get a Toradol injection for her aches. When I say “decided” I mean she came in with the injection and told her that’s what we were doing. When discussing whether or not it could be oral, due to her fear of needles, Jennifer told her it wouldn’t last as long and that “in her 12 years of experience she’s never had anyone fall over dead from a butt injection”. She had my sister roll over and when she asked if she could give her a 1,2,3 she replied with “I’ll give you, you’re 24 a grown woman and fine”.
This is not someone who should be caring for other people. No compassion, treating everyone like their a number, loud and obnoxious instead of listening to her patients, NOT a care provider. I would like to believe that maybe she was just having an off day, but we were left with the impression that this may be her normal personality.
Again, this place is always AWESOME. I refer everyone there who needs immediate attention, especially over the local ER. But this nurse’s care sticks out like a sore thumb. Maybe management could remind her that she had a job because people are ill and choose to come where she works.
