5 /5 Wanderer: Overall, it was a great experience. We came from another hibachi place here in Tyler to Yamato, and I’m glad we did. The restaurant was clean, the service was excellent, and they even have a koi pond out front — though it’s goldfish for now instead of koi. Still, I wasn’t there for the pond.
Our server was attentive, and the chef was fantastic — he kept my daughter and the two little boys at the table entertained with jokes and fire tricks. The food was great, especially the steak, which was cooked perfectly. The real standout, though, was the noodles — I don’t know what seasoning or sauce they used, but they were easily the best part of the meal.
Overall, a great place for lunch. Hopefully, in the future, they’ll clean out the pond and add some real koi to match the rest of the atmosphere.
