X- Steakhouse - Amarillo (TX)

5 /5 Jamie Pichcuskie: We had a fantastic lunch at X- today. The wine list was impressive and the food was delicious. The staff was wonderful. The manager waa very kind and helpful. They were also extra careful with my allergy concerns. I look forward to returning soon.

3 /5 Stout Amber (Bam Stout): I went with a group of quite a few for a work event. First off, the place is nice, atmosphere was good, the manager stopped in twice, servers and runners seemed to be hustling. Which brings me to the second point, our server was pretty much non existent. My husband never received a refill of his tea, all waters went empty, I had to ask for my my drink multiple times. I ordered an old fashioned, top notch, before dinner and didnt receive it until the very end of dinner. We sat down at 6, and didnt leave until 9. Our order wasnt taken until 7:30. Thats a really long time to go with only one glass of tea! For the price and atmosphere I really expected a pretty awesome server, and he was lacking in every way. Third, though, my steak was really good. As a group they ordered appetizers, which I didnt try, but everyone said was really good. My steak did come with two sides, so I ordered double Caesar salad. The rest of the sides looked really good, but Im pretty strict carnivore so decided just to do salad. They would not place it in a single bowl, do I had two. No problem, I had put them together. I did ask for no croutons, both salads had croutons. I removed them. Quite a bit of my lettuce was frozen, but the dressing was nice! And it has a good amount of cheese, so I ate that. Now back to my steak. I ordered a 12oz ribeye medium. It was definitely medium well, but still good. It is not an overly seasoned steak, which I prefer. It is served with butter, I would have loved a second dallop! The fat in the steak was really nicely marbled and tender. The edges has a great char, complementary to the buttery fat. I had it down in a few minutes, and regret not getting the 16oz. But my husband also had a 12oz ribeye, and his steak looked nothing like mine. He didnt even finished it, and it was. It appealing to me either. So overall three stars, one star for terrible, terrible, service, five stars for MY steak, but only three for the one next to me. While I would love to go back and get another buttery steak, Im hesitant as there was no consistency in the steaks and I may disappointed in my second $45 steak from there.

5 /5 Thomas Huston: Just moved to Amarillo, looked up a steakhouse online this one said locally grown beef so I went the experience was absolutely amazing from the time we entered til the time we departed the service was outstanding. for food we opted for the crab avocado stack a creation Id never seen before when it arrived it was crab on top of tomatoes with a avocado base served chilled in cylinder form. delicious served with tortilla chips loved every bite. then came the steak we ordered the filet mignon 6 and 9 ounce respectively OMG best beef ever juicy tender and cooked to a perfect medium. They literally melted in your mouth. then for dessert we opted for the chocolate cake mmm absolutely awesome way to complete the meal. I shall return. to all that read this X steakhouse is a must visit if your traveling thru on I 40 or you live here.

5 /5 Todd West: Celebrated our 15 year anniversary at X Steakhouse. The service and management team made it very special. Brooklyn was our server. She was amazing!! The steak melted in your mouth and the drinks were top shelf. Great place for any occasion.
