5 /5 Luis E. Velez Jr.: I wouldn’t call myself a foodie, but I travel often for both work and leisure, and I always make it a point to support small, local businesses wherever I go. One of my passions? Trying Puerto Rican food across the country—and today, I hit the jackpot.
A quick Google search led me to Wepa Caribe Food Truck, and honestly, I didn’t know what to expect. But I’m so glad I decided to give it a shot.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear this place was something special. The owner and his daughter were incredibly warm, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what they do. And let me say—this was one of the cleanest, most well-kept food trucks I’ve ever seen. That kind of pride in presentation speaks volumes.
The food truck is located in a vibrant food truck park, complete with plenty of seating, a great selection of other vendors, and a bar on-site that keeps the energy high with awesome music. The vibe? Relaxed, friendly, and full of flavor—just like the food.
Now, onto the star of the show: the Tripleta sandwich. This thing was massive—in the best way. Fifteen or twenty years ago I might’ve taken it down in one sitting, but these days I could only manage half. Still, every bite was worth it. Flavorful, filling, and definitely a great bang for your buck.
I also tried an alcapurria, and it was everything you want it to be—crispy on the outside, piping hot, and packed with flavor.
After chatting with the owner a bit more, it became crystal clear how much heart and hustle he’s poured into this business. You can taste the passion in every bite.
So glad I stopped by. ¡Hasta la próxima!
