Husband and wife owned and operated; husband is the cook from Germany and wife is extremely hospitable. Very kid friendly and BYOB welcomed. Nice easy drive outside of San Antonio heading towards Bandera.

5 /5 Grace Utter: The Schnitzel Haus serves some of the best German food Ive ever had. Every dish is clearly made with love and authenticity-delicious, and packed full of flavor. But what truly sets this place apart are the owners, they are Genuine, kind-hearted people who make you feel like family the moment you walk in. My Personal Favorite is the Chicken Schnitzel Plate, or the Egg Scramble for breakfast. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for amazing food and even better hospitality.

We stumbled across this place by chance, and it ended up being one of the best German meals we’ve ever had. The schnitzel was crispy and tender, the sides were authentic and full of flavor, and the portions were generous. It felt like a true homemade meal, the kind you’d expect from a German grandmother’s kitchen. The owner was there when we visited, and she was super nice and incredibly friendly. You can tell she puts her heart into every dish, and it really adds to the charm and warmth of the whole experience. This place is a true hidden gem. Skip the chain restaurants, make the drive, and treat yourself. You’ll be glad you did—and like us, you’ll definitely be back.

5 /5 Marek Schultz: Visiting Texas for a week with a friend and we came here for our lunch and so far it is the best place weve been too. The service is wunderbar and the food is sehr lecker. Id say the food here is reasonably priced for the amount you get and how it turned out. For seating there is indoor and outdoor seating and they allow dogs outside if you want to bring your dog with.

5 /5 Justin Sward: Some of the best dang schnitzel I have had. As my grandma would say, it is make your tongue slap ya brains out good! We live in San Antonio and were just out for a drive. We will definitely be making the drive back just for this little gem though.
