5 /5 Lily: I love this place. If we want a place to hang where you feel comfortable and welcome, this is it. You may not know everyone - yet. But youre welcome all the same. The owners are amazing people. Kevin is out front and makes his way around the pub interacting with patrons. Hes hilarious. Mary is usually working hard in the back but comes out as well - shes lovely.
And the food? AWESOME! Listed on the menu is "That Damn Irish Taco." Its my understanding that they served this amazing corned beef and slaw taco at outdoor events prior to opening the brick and mortar pub because it was great to serve when they didnt have a full kitchen. Mary didnt plan to put in on the menu. It was so HUGELY popular, Mary conceded and serves it at The Pub, hence the name. And now you can get it with fried cod if you prefer.
The Dubliners (like Irish eggrolls) are so yum. Ive had the Shepherds pie, Irish Stew and brown bread, Fish and Chips, Irish Coffee, perfectly poured Guinness, and an Irish Whiskey and Guinness drink (my fave that I cant remember the name of) - all were fantastic!!
The servers work as a team so you are never in need of anything. They have the same vibe as the owners which is fun. Its fun to watch them giving each other a good natured, hard time. These are people you can have a Guinness with.
Yes - Kevin and Mary are Irish and created an authentic Irish Pub. (The bathroom is even pretty, haha!) And they were awarded like seven "Best of Hood County" designations. But for me, its more than that. Its a community of salt of the earth people. Highly recommend.
