The Garden Co. Cafe - Schulenburg (TX)

5 /5 James Williams: This place has a real garden on site. The food and service was great. They make fresh desserts. I heard the bread pudding was the best. I had the key lime pie which was perfectly balanced. This is a must try.

3 /5 Troy Hale: Well I called to order a To-go order on my way through. Was told they no longer carry the menu item off their Google maps search. I was told to go to Facebook. A person traveling is not usually going to go to or find you on Facebook so maybe a good idea to update the menu on Google. I decided to stop anyway and see if there was something else I could order because of the high google rating. I really didnt want fast food. I went with the wagyu burger since I would be eating on the road. As soon as they said it was ready, I paid and walked out the door. Opened the container immediately to get ready to roll on to SA. The meat somehow was already cold and the (3) potato wedges were luke warm at best. With a 4.7 I have to assume there are better menu items. For $16 to get (3) potato wedges was quite a surprise. Cant really say there was a great taste being wagyu beef. Was pretty disappointed. Here is the pic of the menu.

4 /5 Yolanda Garcia: We decided to do a pilgrimage to see the painted churches in the area. Lunch stop was here and such a nice gem. The staff was accommodating since we had a fairly large group (15). Various orders off the menu. I can comment on ours and while when we first thought this would be very posh, we quickly found out that this was delightful. We ordered the Brussels sprouts that was a meal in itself. I ordered the fried chicken salad and it surprised me and what a great salad I had. Other items were the blackberry salad, and chicken salad sandwich. All so good. Well we polished this off with no room for dessert. Next time, dessert! Good food value. Will be back. Regarding service, seeing reviews offering different views i could see the possibility but we had great service.

5 /5 Ronald Kelley: My wife and I stopped in for lunch during a day trip to see the painted churches in Schulenburg, and we were really impressed. The food was fantastic — the Reuben sandwich and tomato basil soup were excellent, and every other dish we tried was just as good. The bread pudding was especially delicious. Parking was easy to access and plentiful. If you’re in the area and looking for a reliably good meal, we highly recommend this place.

4 /5 Michelle Schick: Cute little place we found while passing through! Service was great and ambiance was nice. The fruit and Brie chutney was delicious! I had the fried chicken salad. Chicken was a tiny bit dry but the salad itself was really yummy! My husband had the chicken sandwich which was great. Dessert also looked tasty but we didn’t have any room. I would definitely recommend if you are passing through or live near here!
