5 /5 Sop: My wife and I finally made it to Thai Cottage in Sugar Land after living in the area for nearly 15 years. We stopped in for dinner after a high school open house, and overall it was a great first experience.
We started with water, iced tea, Tom Kha with shrimp, and the Wings of Paradise. The Tom Kha soup was flavorful and served hot, though I found it a little light on the coconut flavor. The Wings of Paradise, on the other hand, were amazing—crispy on the outside, with a special garlic-basil sauce that made them unforgettable.
For entrées, we shared the Three Taste Fish Fillet, crab fried rice (medium heat), and Pad See Ew with beef. The fish was fried perfectly golden with a light panko-style batter, but a bit bland on its own—the sauce with onions, carrots, and bell peppers more than made up for it. The crab fried rice was a highlight with generous chunks of crab and just the right spice level. The Pad See Ew had that classic smoky wok flavor with flat noodles, Chinese broccoli, and egg—exactly how I like it.
The decor was inviting, light in color with touches of greenery. It’s not overly fancy but well done for a strip-center spot. The dining area is spacious with comfortable seating, and there’s a small bar in the back. Service was friendly, and my wife gave the place a thumbs up as well.
Overall, Thai Cottage is definitely worth a visit. We’ll be coming back again soon—especially for those wings and crab fried rice!
