3 /5 Cody Gonzales: Texas Prime BBQ has some solid offerings, but it left me feeling a bit underwhelmed overall.
The service was great—friendly and quick, which definitely made the experience better. I also really enjoyed the spicy sausage, which had a decent kick and was well-seasoned. The cheesecake at the end was pleasant—creamy and flavorful.
That said, the main event—the BBQ meats and sauce—fell short. The flavor just wasn’t there. Both the meat and the sauce were pretty bland, lacking the smoky depth or bold seasoning I expect from Texas BBQ. On top of that, the temperature of the food was a bit off—it just wasn’t hot enough, which took away from the overall experience.
Not a bad spot, but not quite the BBQ standout I was hoping for.
